Hi, about 4 months ago a large group of me and my friends went out and played paintball. it wasnt the first time (i own private land) but for some reason one of my friends had his pressure turned up pretty high and didnt let anyone know (he did it half way through the day). well he shot one of my other friends about 3 times in a row and for some reason his welts are still there, not really bad looking but obvious. how long will it take for these welts to go away and could they be permanet??

They aren't permanent and the wont cause damage! I have played in a T-shirt a few times and the welts lasted about a week or so!

I've gotten scars from paintballs breaking skin. Thats about the only thing permanent from welts. You should really get after that guy who turned up his velocity in the middle of the day. He could have really hurt someone like that. :finger:

I was shot five times point blank in august. The balls broke the skin, and the bruises turned completly black. They bruises are just now beginning to disappear.

maybe some of you are either ignorant or retarded. i didnt say he was complaining, i asked a question if they go away or how long people have had them, read the post i never said anything about anyone complaining about the welts, its part of the game. you dont play if you dont like them.

i know metalix has already said this but guys grow up...saing boohoo and telling him to cry to his mom and stop complaining when all he asked if a hot gun could cause permanent damage. BTW thats isnt a very bad question i get asked that ALOT by people just starting...get over yourselves no one cares how many bruises youve gotten or how long theyve lasted.
although i did laugh at the 3 year stomach one =)

I'm backing up Metalix. He never said his friend complained. He was simply wondering. So cut the smart-alek "manly" remarks, and be nice. Just answer the guy's question.
I swear, some people here are so bent on building their ego, they don't read what's really there...
Like others have said Metalix...it shouldn't be permanent, other than a scar in cases like Magnus's. But also like Magnus said, I'd give grief to the guy that turned his velocity up. That IS dangerous, and irresponsible. Gives paintballers a bad name, especially if someone gets hurt because of it.

Thanks for the reply guys, ill have to let my friend know theyll all go away in time. Ive been tryin to ride people about the velocity problem cause thats not cool at all, especially. if someone gets bunkered behind a tree stump (we play woods play). that could get tempers goin. does anyone know of a chrono in the $50- 80$ range thats not that one that fits over the barrel? we tried that one and it did nothing but chop balls, it was wonderful. anyways, thanks to those of you that responded considerately, it was much appreciated.

I have one of these. A must for everyone who does adjustments at home, or plays off the field.

I had one that lasted 3 months. Areas like your butt, stomach, and any other fatty area tend to take a while because there are lots of copusels(sp?) in that area.
he should be fine, call it a battle scar.

I hate to be the one to break this to ya boys, But wait until ya get older (not as old as me, cause I'm younger than that now! ) them nasty welts last twice as long on my old bones than they do on my sons (they're 21 and 19) and they just don't go away I've worn some for 3 ta 4 months!
