I have a question...
I noticed a while back another playing on the field with a phantom and nitro setup. It was a small tank and I know a nitro setup is naturally lighter than a Co2 setup and I was wondering what you have to do to put nitro on a phantom. Do you have to get something special or can you just screw it in like a Co2 tank?
I was also wondering if there would be any advantages to using nitro over Co2? (other than it being lighter) Does nitro last longer? More accurate when used on a phantom?
Thanks. :)

Oh, Id also like to know somet things about the phantoms nickel plate. Is it a grey-ish silver? Does it shine? Can you pick diff colors for it? Does it scratch easily? Does it improve accuracy at all?
Thanks again. :P

Well, until this post gets moved, Phantoms run just fine on CO2. There is really no reason to run it on Nitro. The nitrogen gas may be lighter than the CO2, but a full nitro tank will always be heavier than a full CO2 tank, I'm pretty sure. If you don't have a good dropforward, any nitro tank will unbalance your phantom horribly. I don't even like to run a nine ounce on the regular bottomline. Most people would agree that running a phantom on nitro is a waste. However, if you want to, all you really need is a drop forward for balancing, but no modifications of any sort. In terms of the nickel plating by CCI, I believe it is only on their barrels. The nickel plated barrel is slightly smaller bore than the stock barrel, so it may be more accurate with some paint. It is a greyish silver and is not very shiny. It is hard to find anything more accurate than the stock barrel, it just depends what you shoot. I find RP Scherer Premium or Marballizer works well in the Nickel Plated barrel, but Diablo Blaze rolls out.

Yes the Nickel Plated Barrel improves accuracy and the paint doesn't scratch or anything. A steel Nitro system will always be heavier than a c02 system unless you want to get a iber nitro which is alot of money. You need a regulator and a drop forward to run nitro. But you don't need too. C02 is good enough

oh, the funny looks I got the day I ran my VSC on my gladiator 68ci tank ^_^
hey, I ran out of 12 grams... there's no way nitro will be lighter than a 3.5, 4, or even 7-9oz tank, and it won't be nearly as compact. the only advantages to running nitro on a phantom are climate concerns, and for laughs (or in my case, necessity).
