We all expected more for the 98custom Pro then Tippmann delivered. If you could recreate the 98custom pro using the same 98c internals, What would you want it to have? Keep in mind it would have the same functionalities of a standard 98c and still be capable of same upgrades. We would want to keep it a Tippmann.
I would have like a much lighter marker, rear site non-existent, and some extra weight shaved off. Next a detachable Trigger frame and last shift front grip back a little bit. I would want it to be more of a speed-ball gun or having some tweaks that almost all higher end guns have.
What would you guys want on it?

it would be lighter, shorter have the feed neck vertical on top of the gun, electronic with a WAS board stock, and i cant think of anything else at the moment.

A nice larger bore aftermarket barrel(.691 or more). The small drop, but with an on/off. I like the A5's field strippability, so that would be cool too. The removable grip also. I also like the A5 barrel adapter idea. There's more, but its late for me.

98
~RVA
~Quick Strip Pins <--- Like A-5's
~Detachable Front Grip <--- Like A-5's
~Cyclone Feed Stock <--- Detachable for a regular 98 elbow
~Electropneumatic out of box (Not imitation EP like BKO's)
~No rear site
~Heavily lightened and redesigned internals (to get above 15bps w/out making incomplete cycles
~$300.00 or under Price Tag <--- I'd buy it, no doubt

It would be cool if their were two versions one a speed-ball version (vert feed heavily lightened, a little bit less durable because of taking allot of excess weight off of frame.) Then a woods-ball version still heavy frame but slightly modified but redesigned to have some new enjoyable features and to be cheaper then the A-5.

lpk
removable grip frame
quick stripping
gauge port on v/a
different colors and fades

walkable trigger, i don't care if it doesn't fit the bill, i just wish i didn't have to buy an ebolt to make it that way.

Nope. I don't work for Tippmann.
I'm thinking of remaking the 98c Frame. I'm thinking about creating a new one in AutoCad06 then having it milled out of aluminum or another material (lighter, cheaper, and stronger if possible.) The new frame would run same internals as the 98c. Possibly I would make the V/A shorter to move the front grip further back toward the trigger frame. Also most excess weight on the 98c would be cut off. It would accept the Egrip and it would include many other nice features (blow-back vents, and allow easy installation of eyes and other such upgrades).
That is why I'm trying to collect this information.
The purpose of this is to bring the 98c up to date.

If that were the case I would actually put forth more effort, because I have quite a few good ideas(at least I think so), but since this thread seems to be idle speculation, I put forth minimal effort. Plus, I think people should be paid for their ideas when other people make money off of them. Call me selfish if you want..

first i would like to say that it depends on the position it will be used to play. I am a medium rifleman and here is the set-up that i think would be great:
-Tippmann 98 Custom (Camo)
-16" J&J Ceramic Barrel
-Rocket Cock II
-Double Trigger
-Response Trigger
-Solid Stock w/ air through
-Remote
-Expansion Chamber
-New Front Bolt

Well Anyone with recommendations, It would be greatly appreciated if you sent them to me. I can assure you I will not forget your input toward the project. But I will not pay you for your idea unless I make a huge profit from selling the design or something. Also the idea would have to be of some value to the project. In fact through all the milling processes Im estimating I will lose about 200-400$.
