I have an a5, only change is a an all american barrel.

I dont play very often, and when i do is not for very long.

I was wondering how often everyone cleans their guns.

I've heard, after every time i use it, but ive also read of other tippmann owners who say they go a few outings without cleaning it, with no problems.

Any advice.

Thanks.

i like to clean my gun after every gameday because there can be paint in the insides which can gum up, and there is a black residue on the insides, i tihnk its from the overspray on the inside shells. i wipe down my internals and oil it and im done.

Tippmanns can run without lube or cleaning, my friend had a M98 that he hadnt opened or oiled for 3 years and it worked like it should.

i usually take mine apart every 6 months to oil and clean the internals. I also put a little oil on the bolt before i play as well.

Dr. IfItWoUlDmAtTeR prescribes:
Clean it after every day of playing, and when not playing (out of season) clean it monthly. These are thorough cleanings, quick wipes at the local field between matchs is not thorough cleaning. Make sure you give it a quick sponge bath once a month (this includes full disassembly, wiping reciever halfs down, making sure no parts are attached and then a dunk/scrub process) Or just wiping the marker internals down with a wet towel works great too. I actually reccomend that over taking a bath with you marker.......Whatever floats you boat. If you don't dry it all the way and it rust's (1 in 100 chance), don't blame me for your mistake.

 clean it every gameplay, the paint can fade the paint on the gun. On the A-5, make sure to take off the cyclone feed and clean in between it and the gun. That is a spot that newbies miss all the time till they find out it comes off the gun.:D

I ALWAYS clean it the day after a game. I mean the works, a full new set of o-rings, re-sealing the threads with teflon tape/paste you name it. I also completely clean it when our field goes to play speedball. I dont go and use it as a chance to clean my gun, rehydrate, etc....

That's a bit extreme, IMO. Just wipe everything down, and re-oil it.

I do it just so nothing can happen to my baby. Its ok with the o-rings because of got like 20 extra sets of o-rings as our local hardware store sells 'em DIRT cheap.

I guess that's okay, but I wouldn't re-seal threads.

I clean mine after everyday of play, get some paint and sand out of the internals, wipe down all the old oil, add some new oil put it back together and its good for however long.

I just wipe mine down after a day of play, put a few drops in the ASA before each new day of play and do a thorough cleaning every 10k balls or so.

The tippmanns are like the most simple guns to take apart and put back togeather ever. You should clean it after every day of playing. i clean it after every break. Take good care of you gun and it will take good care of you.
