you guys probably won't believe me, or maybe it's been posted already, but i was at Invasion 2002 tournament at Area51 on saturday in ontario, canada

I was on the sidelines of the amatuer field watching when i heard some CRAZY shots at the chrono behind me. Lil Ryan of Team Northern Lights revealed to us what it was........

Greg Duncan put the matrix internals, matrix trigger frame, matrix board all into an Angel body. (Can't remember which chip it was, but i do know it was fully automatic)

Heres the cool part the gun was shooting at 21bps on..... are you ready for this? CO2!

THat's right, it can be done folks. I didn't believe it until i saw it with my own eyes, he did it again, and let me tell ya, the coating of ice was incredible.... but the marker was still shooting no problem.

So, it can be done folks, and i really hope he can put the Mangel into production, if not then it looks like i'm gonna hafta buy both and put him to work on it.

Peace.

Marc

Theres no way it wsa shooting 21bps with paint. And I dont think the matrix's internals will fit. But who knows.

Im sure someone with competant knowledge of drilling etc. Could fit any internals into any other body. Though some would need major alterations.

Imagine angel internals in a stingray :eyes:

I see you are unaware of who Greg Duncan is........
designer of the matrix.

Very intelligent man, and he just proved the so called "impossible" can be done.

Ok , here's a good question.......

Why the heck would you want to do this? The angel is designed much better than a matrix , the interals opperate more efficiently. This just sounds quite stupid to me......

I don't think that the Angel is designed better than the Matrix, however, it is designed differently. Yes it is more efficient, but then again the Matrix was designed to be low pressure and to be quiet and fast which is does quite well. Its price is very appealing too at about $660. I don't want to argue about which gun is better. They both have their advantages and dissadvantages. I do agree about why anyone would want to do this modification or run the thing on co2. It sounds expensive unless you invented the gun and can do it yourself

I talked to greg about his mangel, and the internals are still angel internals :) What he did do however...

Replaced the battery system on the angel with a 9 volt that is just attached in front of the minireg (looked like duct tape...)

Replaced the angel LCD gripframe with the aardvark custom paintball 45 frame available for the matrix

Used the aardvark trigger as well as aardvark matrix chip

Hooked CO2 directly into his minireg

Why would someone do this? Well, if you've ever met Greg, you know right away he's a different kind of guy. I wonder if you saw him shoot 3 pods over the chrono and turn his breech into a solid block of ice. The crystalized paint inside his breech was almost as funny as when he ran his angel under warm water to clean it out :D

I don't understand why'd he do all this to be different........there's much funner stuff he could of done like......

Modify LPR to have external ajustment ( rock )
Clean 14way , and relube .

Because of that , the gun would opperate on co2

After that , tap the 14way for air assit hoses , but instead of running air assist , he could use air assisted paddles in the hopper , or a reactive trigger via ram.

Instead of duct taping a 9v battery on the gun , get the gun to run off the 9v batteries in the hopper.

Put a spyder gripframe on it , not a matrix , that'd be more origonal.......

When you want to be origional , go to extremes.

plus i forgot to add something in my origional post...........angel internals and matrix internals are totally different . It'd be easier to put a tippmann 98 internals in a spyder.

He put a matrix gripframe on, because he makes the gripframe...

Thanks for clearing that up for me elTwitcho
i saw him shooting it, and it was pure insanity

and seeing him running it under warm water was even funnier.

Personally i think Greg is a genious and great on innovations such as the Mangel.

I heard he was working on a Mini Matrix but it won't be electro? I had a game right after i saw the Mangel being shot so i couldn't get much details.
