I have heard that the TES and Torid X are the same thing. I thought the Torid was nicer and faster. Plus it has an anti chop eye. I heard that the Torid was the reason Smart Parts made the Ion. I know the TES is a decent marker, but I havent heard as many good things about it as I have with the Torid. Are they on par with eachother?

the TES has the same eye, in fact I believe the it was the first to have an eye come stock on a blowback

the torid X is basically the same gun but with a new gripframe

before Odyssey renamed it the torid X, it was called the TES X

SP isn't worried about odyssey, they put out the ion to compete with everyone, not just odyssey

edit

both, same speed, same operation, same barrel/VA/feedneck/ball detent/valve/etc.

re-edit

I take that back they take the same type of feednecks, the taps are the same size

like TESballer said- they are pretty much the same marker. some styling differences, and different gripframes and electronic boards but otherwise they are pretty much the same.
the torid has a rechargeable battery and different modes on the boards (like a bps counter)
oh...that....and dragun has totally dissappeared as far as its customers are concerned. they have gone into production only, for other brands of paintball companies.

this is like comparing an 02 mustang to an 03 mustang. they look the same, they have the regs, the same triggers, the same barrels, the same bolts, the same eyes, the same drops. The torid x is just the new TES, it fixed the kinks that the TES had. The TESs crappy feedneck was replaced by a clamping one, it was given a battery recharger, less ugly grips, it was given multi modes (which i think was a stupid idea), and 1 of 10 Torid Xs aren't defective like the TESs. They don't even make TESs anymore so just buy the torid X cuz you can't buy the TES anymore unless you find one on ebay.

 yeah, I agree with pretty much everything, except for them looking the same. the tes looks much better, IMO. but then, I like the timmy-style body milling.

IMO gun bodies look better with a dust fade, rather than polished, so TES on looks just based on anno
