It would be great IMO. Short barrel, 3 inserts.. Can't go wrong :)
Just make sure you can line up your shots w/ such a short barrel!! Practice w/ some 10"ers.. and then you should be ok converting to a 8" bizerk

8 inches? Dude get a longer barrel.
I know all the internet stuff says short barrel for front/mid blah blah. Yeah well thats 13 year olds who think their spyder looks good with a 10 inch barrel. If you watched some good tourney teams you'd notice 99% use 14 inch and longer, in any position.
The shortest I would ue is a 12 inch. I say go for a 14.

there isnt going to be a performance difference, its preference. i would love to play with a bizerk, i like short barrels alot. and really, who gives a flyin POOP what "the pros" use?!?! that is the dumbest reason to get anything in paintball . . .

The only reason a longer barrel would be better is for aiming purposes. Its a lot easier to aim w/ a 14" barrel then an 8" .. But I usually play w/ my 10" out of my 12", 14" and 16" tips. It's whatever you are more comfortable with.
I use a 10" cause i get extremely close to my bunker.. and if i stick out of my bunker even 2 more inches..then i would be eliminated.

Negatory on that, it's just not true. Either that or your profile is horrible. That's like saying baggy pants are baggy because they leave more of a target.

longer barrels have their advantages. i originally wanteda 12 inch because i feel that is the best medium. but when i bought my AA the only size was 14 inches. but it helps when playing hyperball and airball (what i play most) if you're staying tight to your bunker, in hyperball lots of times the ball breaks on the corrugated tubing because the barrel isn't long enough to stick out between notches. and on a supair field lots of times if you're pushing in on the bunker (to be smallest) just as the ball is leaving the barrel, it bushes against the bunker and gets some crazy spin. the extra couple inches has made all the difference between using my 14 and my friends 12s or 10. just some times the barrel has caught on my bunker when going back in after snap shooting. and the last 2 inches have actually been hit a couple times since i've had it (since august)
but it seems that a real short barrel is just the fad these days. however the pros of the extra inches outwieght the cons for me. i think i would be able to manage w/ a 12 inch aswell, but i'm not gunna pay 80$ not to get hit in the end of the barrel any more. just my $00.02

No where did I use the word "Pro"
I said GOOD tourney teams. If they are good, they must be doing something right. While that doesnt mean copy them, they obviously arent stupid.
As I said, its the internet kids who developed this whole hige-dropforward-really-short-barrel-and-huge-high-rise-for-up-front-play thing.
Play on an airball field with no drop and a 14 inch barrel, you wont ever use anything else. You can aim better, you get better efficiency and you can move bunkers and stuff.
Also if you notice, if you know the field you dont play bunkers "tight." You back off them so you can use angles easier. When you back off a bunker correctly you can shoot from either side, while staying hidden by only moving a foot or so. If you were to be right up against it you would have to move 4-5 feet and make one side blind to opposing players. Again, its the internet people who made that one up. I'm a front guy, the only time I play real tight to my bunker is if I'm in a bait position where they all have a shot on me. In that case, I'm SUPPOSED to be in that spot, its called strategy.

I agree with you that you should back off your bunker for angle purposes.. But when you are getting crossfire from both sides, you need to get real tight to your bunker to stay in the game.. Then just yell to a teammate for some cover, and youll be able to get some snapshots off.
I play w/ the 10" tip the most cause the fiels around here are wooden bunkers, in very small areas. One of the indoor fields here have wooden bunkers, and the field is extremely small. When you play w/ a lot of players on a small field w/ wooden bunekrs, i think that a short barrel would be best.

I agree that small barrels have their uses, just not for me.
The smallest fiels I play on are 3 man fields, those are about 100 X 50.
If you cant tuck in and play well with a 14 inch barrel you REALLY need to re-evaluate your skills.:)

shorter barrels mean less chance of chopping in the barrel...

And shorter barrels don't shoot as well through breaks

Shorter barrels are just more maneuvarable (I hit my 14" on walls by mistake sometimes knocking my tank a bit loose), i dont know if im the only person who doesnt use the barrel to aim, but ok...

All of you are talking theories, and most of them are pretty much correct in their own way. However, how many of you have actually fired a Bizerk barrel? I don't mean a ten inch barrel, or even another 8 inch barrel. The Bizerk gets great accuracy and distance, regardless of its size. It's definitely easier to aim a longer barrel, and many people would argue that longer barrels look better. But, the Bizerk is almost as accurate at distance than any barrel I've used, and if it's not, the difference is very slight. The trajectory may drop off at range, but it's not bad. Personally, I wish Equation would offer a 10 inch Bizerk too.
The runout on the barrel is very tight, and the Teflon bore is strong and smooth. The barrel is well made, and it performs as such, regardless of its length.
Peace Out

the balls get chopped by the bolt. if the ball is too big for the bore of the barrel it might break. The size of the barrel normally doesn't get smaller toward the end, so thats not really a problem.
>most people aim down their barrel subconsciously, just the way the brain works.

I don't aim down the side of the barrel. We use big ball at the field and thats it so i know how it shoots. Just get use to it. If your a front player how would a 10 hurt? So what stay stay a few feet back, just because you have a 10 doesnt mean you have to hug the bunker (but it sure does help when you are getting pinched). And a drop isn't just for compact it makes the weight of the gun balanced. 12 si the longest for me.
