this is gonna sound stupid i know, but in my personal experiences, the ions seem to be made to a much higher standard. they are a tiny bit heavier, a little slower stock, but have better vision, better efficiancy, similar consistancy. if the shocker would cost $450, i would persoanlly get the ion and get $160 in new parts instead. just my thoughts.

but to tell the truth, while we may be awesome, this is probably a question for the general forums. not that it would give you less biased opinions, just that this has nothing to do with the impulse.

its all a choice of money but i cna say 1 thing. the shocker is a out of the box gun. you got your bottom line with a drop and on/off, you got a 70 dollar barrel and stuff and a nice adjustable trigger that really needs no upgrades. with the ion, the barrel is rediculously bad, like 30 dollar gun bad (its really no different than a stock sypder barrel or something bad like that, i just say really bad because the internal finish is the worst i have ever seen in a barrel), and the duck bill asa is pretty long. most ppl dont like it and want something else. both guns might need a clamping feed. the ion needs a new trigger to really get strings going. so with a shocker you got 30 bucks for a feed. ion you got lots to go.

I would take the shocker...I've used a stock Ion and I don't like them at all. They are WAY overhyped.

Ions are nice but it's not really in the same league as the Shocker, hence the same company. They are not made to compete with each other; get the Shocker.
