I have had my tes a year and I just can't get the velocity above 220 no matter how high the regulator pressure is
do I need a spring kit?
or is there something else wrong?

A spring kit could help. I had the same problems (but I couldn't get my gun under 350fps)

oh ok cool
I found a shocktech Spyder one for $4.99
I think it will work

yep, that one will work with a TES :)

also, just out of curiosity, what barrel have you got on there?

Well my stock one
because I haven't gotten my new Driver yet (it should be here tommorow)

ok, I was just curious. the porting, and internal surface of some barrels can cause lower velocity.

and as you prolly already know, a tight fitting, hi-flow bolt will also help.
geeze....I'm having a total brain fart here. I'm trying to think of ways to pick up the velocity in a gun, and I'm just drawing a total blank. damn I hate it when this happens

well I finally got my spudnuk'l bolt in (it took well over a month)
and I thought that was the problem so I put the stock one back in and it was a little higher. so I put the Spud in and cranked up the operating pressure on teh guage until it got to almost 700 and it didn't make much of a difference
so I figured my spring was getting worn out so I will probly order the spring kit (maybe I can try lowering the overall operating pressure after I fix this)

hmmm. ouch, 700 and no difference. thats not right. are you using the factory reg? I dont see one listed in your sig. if so, you might try getting a rebuild kit from that guy that was selling those clamping feednecks so cheap on ebay, and see if that helps.
heres the thread where you posted a link to his auctions-http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=313470

if thats not it, then it sounds like you've got a valve that isnt letting air thru properly, or a seal that is letting it get out.

bolts...and clamping feednecks.....oh crap that reminds me, I gotta pm wulf about paying him for those!

I am telling you, I have tried practically everthing.
I replaced the valve stem with a brand new one my teammate had in his gearbox. I waws able to get a velocity spike up to 265 once adn the rest are in the 220-235 range

no change, the really strange thing about all of this is, my whole gun is shooting very well except the velocity, I am able to reach good rates of fire, It makes no strange noises (no leaking of any sort) it recocks perfect and it still sprays paintballs when I try. That is why I figured it was just the main spring. it just has no range. the balls fly a little ways and just drop.

I even thought it was my friends chrono that I was using so I took it home and tried my chrono and still not much of a change

I might add that I am using co2 (because I haven't had a chance to drive 45 min. to get my n2 tank filled)
oh and I even tried 3 different c02 tanks thinking that I might be low or something was wrong with one

sorry to double post but I am going to borrow my friends TES with a stock regulator and put his reg. on my gun so see if that is the problem.

hopefully that reg is the problem. cause that is REALLY strange!

yeah trust me I wouldn't waste the space with a post if I didn't rule out every logical problem and Test as many solutions as I can

a salution has been found
I got my air filled and got my Driver barrel on my TES adn I made a very ghetto shim kit with some washers, I stretched my stock spring and messed with my reg pressure until the gun is now in the 270's (which is fine because the field I play at is 285 tops)

DarkeWolf

very cool, I'm glad that you got it worked out. I'll bet that you are enjoying the extra range, neh?

so what did you put the shims on, to help it out?

pbrascal37

I put the shims in to see if it was the spring tension that was the problem and it seems it will. I am going to buy a spring kit anyway just to have the tighter spring on there

oh yeah and after reading my first post I realized it sounded like I NEVER got my velocity above 220 but Actually It worked and chronoed perfect (280-285) up until last weekend

ohhhhh ok, so you shimmed the spring? hmmm...thats a very novel idea, I dont think that I woulda thought of doing that.

hahaha yeah, thats the way that I had read your first post too, that you hadnt ever been able to run it at an optimum velocity.

yup
and yup
I had just realized that and thought I should clarify myself
I have never really had any problems with my TES except when I bought it the sear was out of adjustment and had to be sent back
BUT ALAS THE SHREDDER WORKS AGAIN!!!

yep, it sounds like its time for you to go back out there on the field and show them what the Draguns are made of again!
:D

oh yeah cuz it is much more tricked out than the last time I went out there

DarkeWolf

all the more reason to show it off then ;)
