I just called up the pro shop to se if my Shocker was repaired and ready for use. He tells me the internals are duct taped, there's some blue gooey stuff instead of soldering, there's grease on the chip, and a few other things I cant remember. Should I take it back to the guy I bought it from? Or is there a inexpensive way to fix all of this? I really like my Shocker and don't want to give it up. Help!

I'm also considering getting my Cocker or $400 back and saving up my money and buying a brand new 2001 or 2002 (depends on when I buy it).

Grease on the chip should be expected. It doesn't harm anything so far as I know. I checked mine and there is some there, works fine. As for the duct tape and the blue gooey stuff, I'd have to see a picture of atleast get a better descript of what he means. If it can just be wiped off (the blue stuff) and resoldiered, then that's fine. I don't know WHY anyone would duct tape up their internals. I couldn't conceive how it could cycle with tape on it, so I suppose it can be fixed. If you need any pictures of how stuff is supposed to look, I got some pictures of an eclipse (almost perfectly matched to mine) that I got off shocker owners group before it disappeared I can show you.
