Well, as promised this past weekend I did the Impulse aftermarket bolt test and the results were interesting to say the least.
To view the results go here http://www.kamworld.net/paintball/reviews/bolt_comparison.html
I plan on running more tests using different Impulse configurations.

First you must buy a new (third) Impulse to get a new bolt.

You said that the VooDoo bolt came in second. It was tied for third. Werm came in second with only 8 points in varience. Just thought I would help ya out.

I believe you are looking at the Min/Max Range.
I am reffering to the Standard Deviation (STD) column. This is what the review says "The MAXair was the most consistent bolt of those tested, having the least amount of standard deviation. The VooDoo bolt was second and the Werm bolt was third."
Min/Max Range is the difference between the highest and lowest velocity shot. This really does not mean alot since you can have a lot of consistancy and then one high or low shot.
STD is the average deviation from the average. STD is the value to use when looking for consistancy.
~~ Hope that helps ~~

i did the same thing, got the range confused with S-bar
Just thinking out loud, but a number of us that do some of thei testing have been talking this over. We know that all the bolts inprove the preformance on a stock gun. We know that the VFF showes an excellent improvment on a stock gun. Without going thru a lot of theory we have been discussing-- the bottom line is (IMHO) that the VFF already does the "improving" that a lighter bolt would have done. and you can only get so much preformance form the small air passages it to and out of the Solonoid.
The Derin bolts still have their advanges- its just that - it appers at least- the lighter bolts will not add speed above what the VFF already gave.

It seems like the WERM is the best bolt.
Becuz it has the least kick, and all of them are extremely close in consistency.
Where can i get a WERM bolt?:pissed:

At e-pboutlet they are here http://www.e-paintballoutlet.com/impassoc.htm listed as Delrin bolts (white, black)

The amount of kick from the different aftermarket bolts is the same.
Here is some information I am working on (did not publish it yet) for the different Impulse bolts. http://www.kamworld.net/paintball/reviews/bolts.html It has pricing.
EDIT - sorry about that, I renamed the file and it must have added an "L" to the "htm"
