shootpaint, do you know if they have changed the grip much between gen. 2 and the v7? i despised my gen. 2 grip because it was all squared off and cut into your hand, not at all like the 2k2 timmy frame they were probably trying to mimic...

My V7 has a very nice frame on it. It is still the Timmy style Clamshell frame but all edges are rolled on it and it has a very good feel to it, for a 45 frame :)

Guess now that Nuke has put the info out about them being ready for shipping I can say more about them :)

The V7 FreeStyle is a cross between a standard FreeStyle and a FreeStyle Pro. It takes the best of both markers and brings them together into one.

The V7's bolt design is based on the FreeStyle Pro's bolt, while the solenoid uses a manifold mount instead of gas lines. The old Humphrey noid has been replaced with a newer Humphrey noid that allows for a higher cycling pressure which leads to a faster cycling speed in the marker.

Operating pressure out the box on my NDFS-V7 was 325psi. After about 20 cases through the marker is it now cycling in the low 300psi range.

There has been a increase in efficency with this design as well. Right out of the box we were seeing roughly 1400 shots on a 68/45 fill. I havent taken any recent counts to see what the efficency is presently but it easily exceeds the counts of my 2K5 FS's.

For those of you that shot the 2K5 FS and though it had no recoil be prepared to **** yourself!!! The V7 has even less recoil. This in part deals with a change in the bolt/valve design.

The remaining aspects of the FreeStyle/FreeStyle Pro as basically left in tact with only minor changes being made to the marker to allow for better flow.

I highly recommend the upgrade to the V7 for those of you that are looking at the FreeStyle. You will find the standard V7 isnt that much more expensive than the Standard FS.

Now the next question I know I am going to have to answer is which should I get, a V7 of a FSP. That is a good question. I am still out on that one right now.

I will most likely be looking a little closer at each of these markers this week, trying to see where my money is best spent. Obviously a V7 is already in my hands but I am undecided on which I should get to replace my FS's.

By the way. I have two hand built FreeStyles, with custom valves and other goodies in them that havent seen any tourny play yet and still look as good as the day I built them:) I am now taking offers.

Personally, I really like the angular look of the '05 FS the most, but I've only seen the one small picture of the FS7 from the back... *cough*

This all depends on you. I can tell you that I am selling off my FS's to pick up another V7 though :)

The V7 is likr comparing a B2K5 to a B2K4. There is a world of difference between the two of them. They both get the job done but one does the job a little better than the other.
