Lurking for awhile, first post. Love the forum.

I've played enough now to know that I want to get my own gear. I've also seen enough "I got this stuff and now I don't use it" listings on eBay to know not to get out of control with my first purchase.

I'm looking to keep my first purchase under $200 but not buy total crap. After some research, I want to see if this looks good for a first marker, mask, etc. and do I NEED anything else, or is something else HIGHLY recommended?

Everything from actionvillage:
Refurbed Spyder Imagine $63.99
Viewloader Rev 12v $21.99
VForce ProVantage Thermal $31.35
20oz CO2 $14.99

Tack on a squeegee, batteries and filling up the tank and paint at the field and I am well under my $200 for the first time out there with my own stuff, so I could spend a bit more, but do I need to?

Good, bad? Comments? Missing something vital? Thanks all.

Yes, and definitely the barrel bag!
And the list up top is great for other "non-gear" related items.

Thanks for the quick reply. The only problem is that refurb is out of stock now! Dang.

Any more comments greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is this the same loader that I'm looking at? What do you think of this package?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=47253&item=7164454700&rd=1

This would be slightly more than actionvillage.com, but I can't wait for them to fill their stock! :D

also, you have a nice linup for your gear, and like PbAllWiZZ said, BARREL BAG;)

The stuff looks good but dont get the refurb because that means something was wrong with it and u dont want it to mess up when ur on the field

u should look at gettin a piranha instead they have a way better rep and are genuinly better
if u get a cheap but still good electric piranha(not R6) like GTI or something and get an Halo TSA hopper ther way better and if u ever get a better gun u can use it
an GTI is about 100 and the Halo TSA is about 50 the goggles u want are like 30 and the tank is 15 barrel bag is maybe lets say at the most 10 and thats comes to about 175 or a little more and in spending that little more u got a way better gun and hopper (IF u do get any electric gun though in the future u may want to think to getting an Air Tank)

No it dosn't. It means that the stupid n00b said, "WHAT? I CANT INSTANTLY WIN WITH THIS GEAR?" Then he returns it and buys a timmy and still manages to get double bunkered.

Well that setup sound pretty darn good for your first package I wouldnt change a thing on it exept you need to get a barrel bag.

Yes that does mean that it had somthing wrong with it but they fixed it and its under a 30 day warenty wich is a plenty amount of time to find out if its bad. And if it is just get send it in and get a new one.

If you have enough money, get a new barrel right away. J&J Ceramic or CP 1-piece.

I'm not worried about that since the factory fixed it. I've actually read some posts that recommended the refurbed gun over a new one since the factory got their hands on it twice.

I've read the reviews on the GTI and am thinking about it but the Imagine is cheaper.

If anyone can tell me a reason that I would want to spend the extra money on the GTI, please do. But as a newbie, I'm trying to get just some half-decent stuff right now for as cheap as I can. If the GTI will perform better for my purposes right now as a noob to make the extra money worth it, I'm all for it.
Any more comments, please?

Thanks for all the advise!

hey im just saying its a better gun it doesent really matter wat ur playing either rec ,woods, or speedball this gun is good for it all its got the durability and accuray for rec and woods and got the speed for speedball. if u do get this gun a really good barrel for its is the 32 degrees whisper barrel it makes the GTI so quit and accurate(i no cause my freind has one)
look ya the GTI is more money but will be better overall and if u ever wanted to upgrade the imagine it would cost just as much or more than a GTI and all the GTI needs is a electric hopper and Air Tank if u can get it but if not co2 works great in it to
hope this helps

So, would you say that the GTI is a better gun out of the box? Because right now I'm not planning on doing anything to upgrade any gun I get.
But at the same time...in the future if I do want to, are both easily upgradeable the same?

They are both good out of the box and yes they are both easily upgradeable but with the GTI the biggest upgrade ull need is a barrel and a electric hopper the other things are just aceccories that u really dont need and besides spyders have a rep for breaking alot and with the piranhas me and my friends have had and the spyders we much prefer our piranhas

There not in stock right now, but at First Call Paintball they have a blue refurbished E-force GTI for only $50.

Out of stock there too. Well, it'll give me more time for some more research.

Any other advice?

Thanks for the posts so far.

*EDIT: actionvillage has the Imagines back in stock. Still can't decide though.
