Can we add a Fine Arts Forum to the Off Topic Forums?

In the fine arts forum you would discuss music and visual art mostly, but poetry could also be discussed as well. someone could post an interesting poem and we could have an intelligient discussion on it, etc. I doubt 90% of the users are capable of that, but i can think of a few who are.

movies would be included in the visual art catagorie.

i think this would be helpful to clean stuff up from the off-topic forum, and also to provoke more thought inducing discussion on the forums as well.

Maybe a politics forum too? Or perhaps that could be added to the religion and philosophy forum. But then again church and government aren't supposed to mix, right? :laugh:

well it could just be an intellectual conversation forum, preferebly closed to most, allowing the more intelligient members to post there only. i am pretty sure automags.org has a forum like this.

if one would want to post there they could apply for admission to an administrator or one of the moderators of the intellectual forum.

i just dont want it to turn into some incube and friends spam fest.

maybe a fine arts forum, and then the intellectual conversation could be a sub-forum of that?

I was just coming in here to say we should have a music forum cause there are way to many Fav music, fav band, fav song threads in the off topic forum. I think a fine arts forum would be great to incorperate movies and other events in a place besides off topic.

A seperate politics forum isn't a bad idea. And Omega, I like your idea for a Fine Arts forum. Very good...I applaud that. Your'e right though, it'll be interesting to see how many people could post in the Arts forum...maturely. The mod would have an interesting time keeping things civil there I think...and yet, maybe not. It just might work.

PrOk...what do you mean by an "intellectual" forum? I mean, that's pretty broad. That could cover almost every academic discipline there is... Could you be more specific with what you're thinking?

well, i haven't really though of the actual topics that would be discussed in the intellectual forum, but i think it would be things like, but i suppose politics would be a large topic, we could have a book group (come on its cool . . .), discuss finance, im not really sure.

so maybe just politics instead of intellectual, that would be cool.

so, fine arts and polictic forums, seperate but equal.

I like the idea of a "intelliual" forum and maybe some sub-forums as well. That would be cool.
