How does getting sponsored work?
Do you contact them or do they contact you?
What do they pay for?
What do you do for them?

I was just thinking about this the other day and I didn't think they would buy the team new markers. I thought they might pay for tournament entry fees and maybe paint but that's only a guess.

sponsorships are all different.

usually, varying to different teams, they will give more or less items. remember, the main thing sponsors want to do is sell their items... if their gear is being seen on the best teams, winning all the NPPL tourneys, people are going to buy!

Sponsors will do, and expect different things from your team. All my teams sponsors expect different things from us, so if you want to know what a sponsor wants, approach him and ask. It is very rare for a sponsor to approach you though, we've only had one sponsor approach us, and we've approached all the rest. Sponsors also look for different things, some things they look for as a general rule however are Winning results, sportsmanship, and a team that will play lots of events. Don't expect to get much in the way of sponsorship without first playing at least 2 or 3 tournaments minimum. At your level, a sponsor won't likely be buying you paint, guns, or sending you to tournaments. What they will do however, is offer items at wholesale prices (paint and guns) give you a place to practice at a reduced cost and smaller things like that. They only spend money on the bigger teams, so don't go expecting too much. Lastly, try and approach your sponsors in person, you'll get better results if you talk face to face with the person you want to sponsor your team. Be sure to make a team resume to have with you, this should include a list of members, and previous tournaments and how you placed, as well as what tournaments you plan on participating in, in the coming season. Lastly, good luck to you

Being on a team and/or playing turniments is not always required for a sponsorship ether. A formor roomate of mine (who actualy got me into the sport) was sponsered by Air America, as a rec player. He had never played in a turniment, had only (for a breif time) been invovled with a team (a rec team at that), but was still sponsered by AA for HOW he played (he basicaly recived it for sportsmanship).
