Do you have to have an on/off valve on your tank/asa to work with a Shocker? I hear gassing it up to fast will blow the solenoid. Also, I saw some pics of Shockers with Angel grip frames, are they interchangeable or is this custom work? Right now I'm a bit torn between a vertical feed 4x4 witha vertical reg, or an ANS gx3. I like both, but leaning towards the gx3 as of now...

I'm pretty sure you need an on/off valve with a Shocker, I could damage the Max Flow. You need to buy special angel frames for use with Shockers, like the Werm Frame (the best Angel frames IMO) you can buy them at http://www.wermmods.com .

I once had a Cocker, didn't care for it at all. So I traded it in for a Shocker. I love my gun! The only reason mine isn't working is because some ******* rewired the board. So don't fool around with that. So just treat your Shocker right, and you'll love it! GO FOR IT!

Well you don't have to have an on/off valve. What I have always done with mine is when I am done playing I turn my maxflo down to about 130psi. The worry is that you will screw in the tank and poof your running 250 through your noids......kaboom. So if you don't have the on/off like me, just crank her down when you are done.

Thanks for the info, I thought I'd just get a vertical reg and an on/off asa adapter, like a CP or Kapp. Not really sure what I'm going to do, I've had my eye on a few guns. Shocker, ANS 'Cocker, or an RT Mag. I've read up a lot on all of them, but am still torn. If I wanted to use a screw in nitro tank on a Shcocker with an on/off asa, could I? what kind of output would the tank have to have? Is 850psi is too high for a MaxFlow reg?

Despite the resemblence of a Shocker to a "Brick" I've always found them appealing. Perhaps its because of the super LP operation, or maybe it has been that "Brick" appearance all along. I don't know, I've heard they have one of the most detailed maintainence procedures of any gun, and Smart Parts service isn't the greatest. I've also heard how they are unreliable, but then I here how they are great. I still don't know what I'm going to do... What I really need is an unbiased opinion from someone who actually knows about paintball! Ah!

The gas efficiency on a Shocker doesn't seem to be...er...great either, how many shots can they get off a 68ci/4500psi tank?

Right now with my 88 45k Max-Flo tank I get around 1100 shots off, it all depends on your gun though. I talked to this guy who gets around 1300 off of a fill. I can never get a full fill though. So who knows.

Yes you can use a screw in preset inot the shocker. The maxflo reg will regulate that 850 psi down to its proper operating pressure. That setup should do your just fine. Yes the efficiency is a little bad on the shocker compared to most other guns, but they are reliable. Mine has only ever gone down on me once and I have owned it and played with it for over a year, and it was a very quick fix. Yes smartparts the company is slow and horrible, but you have to admit they make good products. The shocker is very reliable.

In all seriousness if you are undecided you need to go to a shop and hold them all. Cockers and mags can be very nice, I was thinking of getting a cocker before my shocker, but when I pulled the trigger on the thing and in moved lik 2mm and started cycling I was hooked. They all have good quialities, but if your gonna be torn, be torn between the cocker and the shocker. They are very similar in the way they feel when they shoot. Both are nice, but for me I love the electro's and I love my shocker.
