does the length of a barrel have any effect on accuracy/distance? i've heard conflicting opinions on this issue. the reason i ask...i just purchased a tippmann m98 custom and added a 12" lapco bigshot. i was telling another paintball player what i bought and he was asking why i only got a 12" barrel.

thanks.

12-14" barrels are reguarded as the best length overall. Most people say the rule of thumb is anything over 12" is a waste. If you read Sayian Warrior's thread on range and accuracy it should give you reassurace that you made a good decision on the 12" length.
Hope this helps,

I heard from many pbstore managers that 12in barrels are the longest barrels to get and still shoot far. Anything over 12in slows down the ball.
