How old is old paint ?

I opened a bag of super swirls back in July and the shot fine. i put them back in the bag then twist tied it then back in the box. I havent messed with them for a while . Saturday i played paintball with them and all of em starded bustin. maybe 100 out of 200 made it out of my Razzor barrel in one piece . IS THIS CAUSE they are old ?

Probably. did you leave them in sunlight/in a humid area?

From what i've seen paint is only "good" for about 1 1/2, 2 months. And you said July. Thats like 6 months. So they were most likely old.
