It's just in case something goes wrong with your gun. If paint gets caught in your bolt or your gun starts leaking or any sort of problem arises, it's important to be able to easily take apart your gun so you can fix it. So the ability to easily and readily take a part your gun is a good thing.

I field strip my m98c every time I use it for a full day. I clean out any dirt, wipe the moving parts clean(very small piece of rock could get stuck, when bolt recocks gun it starts to cut a grove into your bolt, next thing you know your tearing your gun apart from the inside out every time you fire w/o knowing it) I also oil the moving parts, then I shoot some oil through my gun. Taking care of your gun is important, and knowing how to take it apart and what each part does is important to troubleshooting any possible problems you could have.

Stealth: You can't field strip a 98 Custom...it's just impossible. What you are talking about isn't really field-stripping, it's just simple maintenance. The only thing you can do with a 98 Custom on the field is take a Battleswab too it!:D
