Cocker with co2

i dont know how co2 runs through a stock cocker, but when i use co2 on my cocker it totally blows. its prolly cuz i upgraded it for nitro. Anyways, i got a guage coming from my front block and i have my reg set to 250 psi and when i run co2 without a anti-siphon tube, it spikes up to 550 psi. When i run co2 with a anti-siphon tube it runs around 250 psi. I guess thats how bad co2 is without the liquid co2 turning to gas.
i hope i didnt mess any of my gun internals up.
