i see often in theads and posts, people go paintballing with their church. that would be my last guess as to a supporter of paintball. i thought churches look at it as a barbaric, violent game, not something they encourage. well, i just wish my curch did that.

you have not read the book of laysoya, chapter 18, verse 6. and jesus said "and paintball is a godly thing and should be practiced every weekend. The shell of a paintball is my body, and the paint is my blood, and you should make other people eat it"

My church has gone paintballing for years... to them it's something really cool.

There's nothing really violent about paintball. Every single pastor at my church has gone, as have a number of adults, and most of the teens.

Where exactly did you get the idea that churches thought of it as a violent barbaric game?

Well I'm sure priests watch football and that is a lot more "barbaric" than paintball.

I wish my church would set something up like this. Maybe I should suggest it.

I can hit the side of a barn. :wink2:

Most of the people I play with are from church. Even my pastor and his son have looked into playing.

I'm buddist and when I brought up the idea of a paintball day, the head priest thought it was a great idea. However, he didn't like my idea of using the temple as the paintball field :(

Paintball trips are always fun. I like to watch how youth leaders and preachers whipe and cuss under their breath. Its sooo fun to watch.

It's a fun group activity that encourages team work, communication skills, and good sportsmanship. Youth groups go for the same reason some buisnesses do, to build team skills between the members.

I know one of the largest churches here in the DC area takes their youth groups out every first saturday of the month. Including parents they typically have about 80-100 people. They're a good group of people. We need more groups like this supporting the sport!

Paintball is a great Youth Group activity. It's one of the few sports where every kid has a chance to be good, not just the most athletic ones.

Big ups for Church groups. I was part of one through my teen years. Great times.

I don't like it when I get to a field and there's 20 ppl from a church and they come up to me and start saying "join now and have the time of your lif and beyond." Some one said that to me once. They're like telemarketers that come to where are so you can't hang up.:pissed:

Riiiiiiiiiiiight:rolleyes:

Last time I went a church youth group was there. Only problem was that the kids were way too jumpy and I got bonusballed more than anything else. It is a great team builder activity, and many businesses will do it too, like UTLadiesMan said.

You actually listen to telemarketers? I just say "No, Thank you" and hang up right away.

There are 7 million people in the US that play paintball. I think that most people have the idea that paintball isn't some violent, masochistic sport. Let's not forget paintball is a fun activity. Using paintball can help parishes get their youth involved with church activities.

Certain religious affiliations may or may not condone paintball. There's more than just simple Catholic & Christian. There's Lutherans, Baptists, Church of the Latter Day Saints (or something like that - they used to have a lot of commercials on tv back in the 80s/90s).

Baptists might be one that would frown upon paintball. They're caRazy strict .

In my church they played paintball a couple of times. The most memorable were with the 18 year veterans in a scenario game. The other times without the vets, it wasn't good. It was to easy:(.

Don't be so quick to generalize, my Youth Group goes about twice a year, so does my friend's Youth Group, and he's also a Baptist.

I'm a christian & I am a die-hard woodsball pballer. I think that non-christians & christians are just as likely to play and/or be good at the sport. It's really nothing more than a game of tag with a twist. Nobody thinks "I'm shooting this guy" or that they're actually trying to KILL them.

In fact, pretty much all the people I play with in my town are christians too. I think to say that the church looks at it as "barbaric" is a misunderstanding of the sport itself.

My aunt & uncle are Baptist and they've got some strict guidelines that the church "suggests" they follow. I don't know their stance on paintball but i wouldn't be suprised if they were against it. Yet it seems that they aren't, so thanks for the correction. But i wasn't generalizing.
