Doesn't matter, get the Ion.

Yeah, it does.

No matter what you do to an Imp they're still 10 ft tall...I would take a stock Ion over a totally upped Imp, I'd rather play comfortably on the field with mediocre BPS than feel uncomfortable w/ high BPS....

Your right, they are tall but just because you would be uncomfortable doesn't mean someone else will.

Ion, you'll be cool like us...:dodgy:

Can you even hit 17bps with an Impulse? Besides, the ION is lighter, unless you make your own "1337 custom Impulse body" out of an aluminum soda can.

:dodgy:

Get the ION.

Fine. If you do decide that you want to get the Ion shoot it first. I say this because I've shot like 5 different Ions and I hate how they feel.

The vast majority hate how impulses feel, including me. With a WAS board and proper parts, the Impulse will sing. Otherwise, go with the Ion.

Or for the fact that you have an Imp. We back up the Ion because we have an Ion, and you back up the Imp because you have an Imp.

Or because your opinon's wrong and were right. Ion pwns teh Imp.

Come on now, let him read what you said.

Hell, I own an Impulse and I'm telling him to get an ION because I KNOW it's effing better.

I've never seen a Ion hit 17 without rebound, but that's beside the point.

Ion.

Ion.

I've never seen an Impulse hit 17 either way, and with the WAS board (if it even has ramping, I'm not sure), isn't it mostly semi-only? Try keeping 17 up, regardless of what mode the IONs in.

Eh you win, bite me, the ION still wins lol.

Wrath! But since that's not one of the options... Ion!

Shoot them both, see what you like.

I have shot both, and I prefer the Impulse.

This thread is just going to turn into a "GET AN ION" fest, like every other Ion Vs [insert gun here] thread.

Impulse > Ion.

Impulse > Ion.

See, this would be fine if you'd back up your statement.

How's it better?

Ok,

WAS board uncapped, New Ion board, capped at 17bps.

More upgrades for the impulse, not to meny for the Ion, and when the Ion DOES start to get more upgrades, the impulse's upgrades will drop in price.

Uped Impulses are cheeper then New/used Ions.

Happy?

May be uncapped, but old technology and the trigger design of the Impulse sucks, and generally precludes you from hitting high rates of fire.

More upgrades to fix more problems for the marker. More upgrades doesn't necessarily mean better. Hell, Angels have reletively few upgrades, and spyders have tons of them. Does that mean spyders are better?

What an impulse has:
Stacked tube design (more parts = more reciprocating mass = more kick = more parts to cause problems)
Large ram and hammer assembly (heavy kick)
Solenoid tray tacked on top of the grip frame
bulky body design

What an Ion has:
Single tube design (simplicity)
Blow forward spool operation (minute kick)
Short profile (no solenoid tray, no second tube)
Slim body (no bulky brick body)
Updated eye system (not old technology)
Easily maintained
Easily diagnosed if problems arise.

Now how is the Impulse better?

the impulse is bulky, I will give you that, but it does not have any kick.

The Impulse is more simple then the Ion and easer to maintain.

Time yourself taking apart a Impulse and Ion, You should find that an impulse's bolt comes out in under 15sec, and the Ion in under 15min.

I'm not going to fight with you about this. There basicly the same gun, Just the Ion's smaller, but harder to take apart. The Impulse is bulker, but easer to take apart.

Time yourself stripping out the ram and all the internals of an Impulse. Maybe half an hour? Howabuot an Ion. Maybe 5 or 6 minutes.

The Ion is a MUCH simpler design with only ONE moving part if you discount the solenoid. Bolt, ramshaft, hammer, valve poppet....there's four alone on the impulse.

They are NOT basically the same marker. They are ENTIRELY different designs. There's a reason the Impulse is out of production, and that's the fact of it being old technology. Face it, and move on.

Thats why I stopped making posts because I knew sooner or later Rob was going to own me like he did in the b2k vs imp thread. :dodgy:

And yes I saw your hidden text when you first posted but it doesn't matter. I still like my Imp.

To get on topic an stock ion is alot better than a stock imp. Its just that there is something about it that makes it feel bad for me. Maybe the stock asa but I dunno.

I think thats it. I've never tryed an Ion with a different asa. I need to try an Ion with like a CP or something and I'll probably like it.

Hell28 is not a baby, He can shoot both and see which one he likes more.

I just can't belive how immature some of you Ion owners are. I was just trying to prove that he CAN look at an imp and an ion.
