my brother is getting a new gun, he doesnt want to spend more then $250 on it, and he plans to use co2 with it. he is thinking about getting a tipman a-5, would this gun do good with co2? or what other guns do you recomend him to buy ?

You can buy a refurbished A-5 for $150 right now. $250 is also getting close to ION land.

any mechanical marker uses co2, so no need to ask that. Shop on ebay, thats where my friends get most of their gear. its alot cheeper, and if theres something wrong with it, they just take it to a pro shop. its all good!

Don't get an A-5. You can buy a Spyder Imagine that will be cheaper, lighter, smaller, and easier to shoot fast with. It will work with CO2, but if you get your tank anti-siphoned at your local paintball store it will work even better.

Mags that aren't using the classic valves don't take very nicely to CO2.
I'd suggest a used 'Cocker, or a used BKO, or something else like a Spyder.

They were at Paintball-Online, but I don't see A-5s there anymore. I only see the refurbished 98c, which is advertised on the left of this page.

I'd bring up the irony of your statement and the sound of a Spyder firing on a Co2 tank...but no I suggest the Imagine too.

All these post are wrong. Go with a Blade man. Let me let you in on a little something only a few ppl know. Most of the pro teams use Blade internals with aftermarket big name bodies to make what they shot. I have seen cops, and the FBI train with Blades.
Hell as we speak the Senate is trying to pass a bill that would make the Purchase of a Blade to anyone under the age of 21 illegal, on top of a five day waiting period.

You could always get one of those new ACE'd sear trippers, like the new Diablo Mongoose. Can't say I have any experience with them, but they really liked it in this years 'What Paintball Gear' magazine.

$174 and then use the rest to get a decent loader, county is a reliable seller too.
