Okay when in the custom gun forum. I went to the pic thread, and theres a nice little flame(is that the word i want..?) going on between cockers and mags....SO I thought I'd make htis nice little thread were everyone can put on there thoughts about whats better a cocker or a mag. Maybe this way it'll stay out of other forums that were asking a different question. (Now I'm sorry if I ofended anyone by puting Cocker in front of Mag put anyways...)So post away any thoughts, ideas, ect. on why cocker/mags are better then mag/cockers. (I won't get in trouble for this will I?, its a good idea just have one forum for every one to argue over whats better...that way it'll stay out of other forums...)
So remember
Have a good
Clean
Flame
Against Cockers or mags...*anything to bad will be deleted..or if it gets out of hands i will peronsal ask the mods to delete the hole thread*

This topic has been beaten to death....its going to be a near never-ending story....

....that is until WGP gets insanely bigger and just buys out AGD to simplify things

hey, i have used mags/cockers before, even owned a wgp cocker, but all my expericenc with automags shows that they BREAK all the time, the valve will blow, the barrel will shake loose, the only problem with cockers i short stroking the trigger, and that is YOUR problem, not the guns..........cockers are way better than mags, especialy in air efficency and accuracy/range

As one of the few people who actually own and frequently use both a high quality mag and cocker, I can easily say that I love both of my babies very much. I do have a favorite however, but I will not tell you which one it is.

in my opinion, i have had both a cocker & now have a mag & i play front & i need to get as small as possible. that is why i sold my cocker & got a mag, not external moving parts & a nice short trigger. everyone will argue between which is better until god knows when. it all depends on if you like to work on a cocker & buy endless acessories for it, or have a mag & spend a little for a new super bolt & rt valve & shoot as fast as an angel. but for the other post's, i have never heard about blowing a valve, & the only thing i can think of around that is you blew an o-ring & your air pressure was up to high. for the barrel being loose, put some teflon tape in the groves so the barrel o-rings wil be out more so it will stay still. this happens w/ my cp barrel & i put teflon on it & it doesnt move any more. my j&j ceramic i just bought fits in there very tight & doesnt move at all. but if you dont want to bother w/ the twist lock, just go buy a pro-team products minimag. they accept cocker barrels. as for range & accuracy, warpig as tested that cockers & mags are as accurate as each other, & the only way cockers get more range is w/ a longer barrel (i.e. shockers w/ 16" all americans). that is why smart parts has there adds about the shockers accuracy, because it is closed bolt & has a 16" barrel on it & closed bolt having nothing to do with it. the only reason closed bolts are good is you have a lesser chance of chopping a ball. as for tom selling agd, i dont think he would ever do that, because mags have been around for a long time & they will never leave. & i have noticed that autococker resale values are going down, one reason is because you need to work on them constantly. ask any cocker owner if they have ever had to fix there cockcer on the field, or have an airsmith fix it for them, if they say they have never had anything wrong w/ it, you know thay are lying. if you all listen to everyone & not try the product yourself, you might be missing out on somthin you might really like.

ya . . i really dont think we need ANOTHER one of these, there are some still alive in the WGP forum or AGD forum or high end smi forum (dont remeber, maybe they all do) and IT IS PERSONAL PREFERENCE!!! IMHO nothing good can come of this thread.

i perfer cockers over mags by a long shot and think they are just better guns, but it is all personal prefrence and the answer you get depens on who you ask.

auto cockers are horribl i owned one and it sucked because it was always breaking and it always had to be retimed and they are extremely heavy if you dont get get a new body for it.

mags are smaller compact feel better against your shoulder, higher rate of fire, just as accuarte, can have a bigger drop on it if you like hella huge drops, dont need much to say that it is tricked out.

Twitchy thinks quantity over quality is the way to go. ;)

Is it better to shoot 5 shots in some area, or 3 right on target?

my freind tried to have his mag be turned into a weird coker mag thingy... i call it the macker

Zanders-Angel

and i bet it either didn't work, or it worked great, because the two concepts aren't ment to be combined, on one hand you have no bolt, and on the other you have the bolt with one heck of an interesting way of moving. did your friend replace the cocker bolt with an automag valve, or something like that? it sounds interesting............tell about it

very very cool, using the front block, reg, and 3/way, and the trigger frame to regualate the air and fire the gun........clever little fool he is

UTLadiesMan

Also, that trigger pull is super light. Take the sear out of your cocker and just toggle the 3way, plus you get to take all of the rear slack out of it because you don't have to worry about timing. That thing has got to be smooth and lightening fast.

I shot that gun actually, last june. Kinda cool, if you're into sliding triggers. It's also a huge gasog

UTLadiesMan
01-20-2002, 09:42 PM
I'll bet it's a gashog. It's a mag, that has to use extra air to cock. Not on the top of the efficiency list. Of course, it's also the first fully pneumatic trigger, since the what, nova?

elTwitcho

It's not actually recocked pnuematically, from what I understand, the sear is just typed pneumatically, the cocking is still same old mag

UTLadiesMan
01-21-2002, 10:23 AM
Yeah, that's what I meant... I knew the recocking was still done by the main spring. I should have said fired pneumatically.
