OK...

I have a bit of a problem. I have about $150 to buy a marker with (the 150 is just for the marker, I have more for a mask, and paintballs), as well as an air tank (a 20oz C02). Do you guys suggest a Tippmann M98C or a Spyder? I know there's an ongoing "debate" over which is better. I know the M98 is more upgradable, but which do you think is better for a low maintenance, fairly accurate as is, semi-upgradable gun? If it's the Spyder, what model? Thanks!

Actually, the spyder is more upgradeable. Tippmann has a wider array available, but most of it doesn't help, and you have to get it all from Tippmann. Everything else you mentioned though, the Tippmann wins. I would suggest a 98c and a new barrel. You can get some really good barrels in the $50 range. Of course, you can always just use stock until you have the extra cash if needed.

It's mainly a choice of personal preferance. Yes the spyder has more upgrades, but the tippman can be upgraded with the flatline. Tippmans are said to be tougher and more resiliant, but spyders are equally durable. Me personally, I play with a spyder, but I might have just have easily been a tippman owner had I researched the tippman before the spyder. This probably didn't help much, but I wanted to remain neutral to prevent any flame wars. :)

I'd go for the tippmann, just because it's a great beginner's gun and can be slowly upgraded.
