Wear a cup??

Guys, should I wear a cup playing paintball? I wore one for every game I played so far, but it was extremely uncomfortable - I really don't wanna wear it again. None of my friends that I play with wear one either. However, I don't wanna end up like the guy I read about who got shot there, passed out, and woke up in the hospital with 1 cup less blood and 1 less testicle (no joke). Is there some way I could pad the inside of my pants or something?

I've played for just over 2 years and have never worn a cup or been hit "there". You have to be firing from a fairly strange position and angle to get hit in the groin. Just use bunkers or lay on the ground and balls will never go near YOUR balls.

see after a while you become VERY talented......by ths i mean you will start to stand side-ways and when you advance up the field you need one hand holding the gun and the other is the "blocker" it seems to work for me tho i look like a goon :freak:

I love my rubber paintball cup and wouldn't want to play without it.

My brother orderd it for me when he got some paintball stuff online, I think he got it from Skan-line. I wear it in a regular jock strap, it's a little uncomfortable at first but then the rubber warms up and I forget I'm wearing it.

This way I can make those mad charges at two or three apponents knowing my Nads are well protected!

well i have never worn a cup for paint ball and i have been hit in every place amaginable. (yes everyplace) and well i dont ware one to this day, there so damn uncomfterable! I only wore one for baseball when iwas a Catcher and that was to protect my future. In baseball getting hit there was regular, paintball its just a bad day if u get hit there. i dont wear a cup although i do plan on getting one someday. i feel that i play less aggressive because i dont wear one. i wont try to bunker anyone because i dont want to loose my little buddies. i just recently started wearing a folded up towel half in half out. i'm not so worried about it anymore but i still play less aggresive becuz of my concern. plus when i wear a towel i get made fun of. everyone always asks me if i'm gonna go wash some dishes or something.:rolleyes:

I use a small black towel. Wear half inside your pants, half out over your groin. I mean, it looks kinda weird but its a lot more comfortable than a cup and it works just as good...been hit there a few times, you barely feel it

I just take the plastic out of the pouch of mine adn fill it with tissue paper. Make it comfortable and protected.

This isn't some lie to try and boost my pride or anything...it's the truth. I have a cup and everytime I go to play paintball I try to put it on...only problem is it just won't fully protect me. One thing or another ends up bulging out one of the sides or something so I"m like, this isn't going to be that much of a benefit, and since it's really uncomfortable, I just leave it at home. Any advice?

I got shot in the balls, and it hurt like a mofo! I'd suggest wearing a cup. After that painful experience I started wearing one. I wear it ontop of some mesh shorts, more comfortable that way, and it keeps your legs from getting rubbed on too much, and then on top of that pants. Once I'm in the game I forget about it and it doesn't bother me.

I take my gun and aim at his crotch. Fire. He hits the floor almost balling because all the little holes in it let paint and parts of the ball through. Then he says, ok im wearing a cup from now on, if it hurts that bad without it.....then he mumbles and walks off.

he tripped. sorta did a split in the air.. 3 paintballs on their target. that kid screaming.

I go paintballing in the woods and I usually lay on the ground or cover my nuts with my hand. If I went to a range for speedball though, I would wear a cup. In fact, I'm getting one now anyway. If you're still too macho to get a cup, would you let someone kick you in the nuts just because people say it is cool. Who cares what people say, having one nut isn't very cool, is it? ****(Stuff) happens, that guy didn't mean to trip.

It just takes getting used to. Wearing one everyday for baseball and practice, you get used to it. So wear one every time you paintball and it won't be a problem. If you have space inside and it's uncomfortable, get a smaller one. Not like anyone's gonna laugh at you. The only place I've heard of a cup failing is in football but there's a lot more pressure getting put on cups there. Like a 300 lb. guy.

i use a 2+0 paintball harness over my nads...when i get hit down there i just laugh...and also im wearing a 4+1 harness... so its kidna like wearing a 6+1 harness and gives u protection :P

Buy the Raven or JT Slider shorts. They are only like $40, and I will tell you it is one of the best paintball equipment i have ever bought, takes a lot of worry off the nuts.

They have a built in soft cup which is plenty to stop a paintball and you don't even know your wearing them.

ok, if you really have a problem with wearing a cup, you could get some leather or some strong material and sew it ove the groin area on your pants. its alot more comfortable than having a cup, and just as effective for paintball.

i wore a cup for the first time on saturday after playing for a year and a half, the time before i went the kid(he was 12) in the same bunker as i went to move up and got nailed, he was crying, and i probably would have too if i got shot in my boys, he told me later he was pissing blood. so i got a cup and saturday i thought i was going to die from discomfort i thought of taking it off but i figured being shot in the nuts would be worse...

and after reading a post today, i tried wearing a cup over some thin shorts..its excellent, plenty of room and protection..just put the jock over some mesh shorts then wear some pants over it, its perfect!:love:

If you buy boxer briefs and wear the cup over that, the briefs give the same purpose as sliding shorts, and they're not as expensive as gettin that cup-shorts combo.

Look here - a .68 caliber paintball is coming at you at 204 MPH (if FPS is set at 300). You think you want to be unprotected? I once accidentally shot a guy in the ol' jewels and he dropped like a bag of sand. Needless to say he was out of the game for a while. It's just not worth it. I wear a cup. It's uncomfortable for the first 15 minutes, but then you don't even notice it. 5 bucks is a small investment and will save you a ton of pain.

It all happened like this, enemy pinned down by your teammates I tell them to cease get up run to him he poops up shoots me in the testiballs pain oww the pain. In pain fall to the ground. Get up later go to the bathroom (spot a pot) to see if the twins are still alive.... Sticky!! what a mess. They were forced out.

I never realy run straight up. Most of the time I'm slumped over and wearing baggy enough pants so the impact is non exsistent. So unless you stay up straight when you run...=) I suggest you wear a cup. I just haven't worn one. I like feeling the wind between there..=)

Ever been shot in the nads at close range?

I play at www.urbanpaintballpark.com which is an urban style area.

One guy was really pissed off because he thought I wiped (It bounced) so, he runs up attempting to bunker me, I shoot him in the goggles and walk away.

Next game the same guy just runs all out past the middle and into our base. Shoots me in the nads! at 6 feet! I fainted! They stopped the game and let me go into the bathroom, they were really red and I pissed some blood. they went to chrono him, he was shooting 280! the field limit is 220! Jesus christ, I was out for a few games, heh I grabbed a towel and put it half in and half out, worked =)

Anyway, I have a cup but It's too damn uncomfortable but! I am buying a pair of Dye Sliders Shorts! That way my nads are protected and I can slide without skinning my legs =)

Moral here is

1. Don't piss someone off
2. Wear a cup
3. Wear a towel 1/2 in 1/2 out
4. Wear Dye, JT, or Raven sliders shorts.
5. Be happy you can have fun and still have some kids!

I've played baseball quite a few years, so I'm kind of used to it, and a close substitute to sliding shorts is the jock strap style cup over some boxer briefs, the ones that look a lot like sliding shorts... a bit cheaper.

I don't wear a cup currently, but I am thinking of digging out my old football jock strap and cup. lately(the last couple times I have gone paintballing) balls have been hitting me in the upper legs, about 1 inch from my groinal area, and I am starting to get scared :eek:

I have also been told a story by one of my friends and another guy who didn't wear his cup. they were at a field and there were 3 guys on one team all huddle down behind this small bunker, well this one guy decides to pull some sort of superhero move and jump over this bunker(not realizing any of them were there). By natural instinct and reaction all three of them fired 3 shots upward. the kid(around 17 I think) got nailed 9 times point blank in the nuts. they said he was bleeding and had to go to a hospital. sucks for him.

I just wear sliding shorts with a cup holder. I put padding in the cup holder and i dont even notice it. If you get hit its nowhere near as bad. Plus its good to have sliding shorts for bunkering.

i am going to use the persons idea with sewing the cloth in the crotch area of the pants or get sliding shorts im not very skilled in sewing tho lol but i must thank you i will now where a cup. and just the other i was scared **** les there a was a bunker i was behind and i was knelling behind it and there was a gap like a bridge at the bottem and the whole time i was stuck behind it i was thinking if someone shoots balls toward the bottem of this bunker im sooooooo f*cked luckily no paint went through and plus i woiuld have prolly been lucky becuase my pants were baggy and at the point they were tight in that area so the ball would have bounce happened to my friend bnut that was scary!

I've been shot in the groin 6 times. I get shot basically every time I play, generally when I'm running for a bunker:mad:. I suggest that you wear a cup, but a GREAT alternative is wearing 3 pairs of boxers. If you don't wear boxers you're queer. No, if you don't wear boxers, you probably are queer, but you can still save yourself by stuffing a sock of two into your tighties:D. Balls actually isn't the worst hit, throat is. I got shot in the balls WAY more than my other friends and then in the neck once. I said that it hurt way worse than the balls and my friends were like, "Well... uh that's because you don't have any balls. HAHAHA!" They thought it was really funny until late one night I crept into their bedrooms and... no. They thought it was hysterical until my friend's brother got shot in the throat and strated crying.
