This is prolly a stupid question, since there are better ways of doing this, like buying a barrel, but its for a project im doing and i dont really wana spend $40 or more on a 22" barrel. As posted befor in my topic Crazy Idea , i am making a Brass Eagle into a scenario sniper/M4. I know brass eagles not great and i should just use a Tippmann, but im cheep and dont care. But the i want to make the stock barrel 22" so i need an extension on it, but how can i find the right size pipe, with the same diameter of the stock barrel. Im just gona extend it, port the pipe, paint it, and put a suppressor on it, it doesnt need to look fantastic, but good enough. So were can i find the right size?

thats going to be basically impossible, considering pipes are pretty much standard. 1/4" 1/2" 3/4" 1" 1 1/4" 1 1/2" 2" 3" 4" - 12"
barrels are bored out, so their thinner, and made out of say solid block of aluminum, milled, and honed.
Be hard to do that with a pipe.. i have seen some homemade cpvc and pvc barrels work good on blades and stingrays though...

I suggest you rethink that length of barrel, anything longer than 14 just decreases the velocity and effiency of the gun, not to mention if you're as young as your name would have us believe, theres no way that you'll ever obtain the resources or even come close to machining a barrel, because barrels are machined from solid bar stock, with the ports drilled first, then their machined out, most have a complex curve milled into the bore of the barrel also, which is nearly impossible to create with out a cnc mill. Take it from me, i've worked in a machine shop for the past 6 years (one of the reasons i got into paintball) and now i'm starting a job as an engineer, to make your own barrel that wont suck is a process that would cost you 5 times what it would cost you to go and pick up a barrel off the net or your local pb pro shop. consider that before you go about strapping a piece of pvc, copper tubing, etc to your gun.

well for one thing, i am not what my name says, 13, thats just y lucky number, or for most people unlucky (Friday 13). The length of the barrel is for looks, why the hell else would i use a brass eagle to make a scenario sniper, basically for looks, and you dont see military snipers useing 14" barrels do u? i think not. basically im doing this for looks. I might still use it, but i will just use a shorter barrel when i do. and i can come to get the resources and i can learn machining if i needed, belive me, i can get it done if i wanted to make a barrel from scratch. but insted of that im gona make it with what i can for less the $5.

thats right, they are made out of solid bar, i forgot about that. I will test this out when school starts back up, we have some in shop. And i have alot of experience on mill/lathe and drill press due to being head engineer and machinist for our robotics team.
hardest thing for me though would be to make threads to fit a gun, id have to buy dies from someplace to do that. So i might just make some for blades and stingrays and see how they work.
as long as u can bore it out, smooth it, and polish then it should work.

the answer is simple, get 22'' of pvc pipe or copper tubing, or whatever you want okay. Get it in say 1'' diameter, then jsut slide the back over the stock barrel(somr drilling of the tube may be needed to make it fit) and boom there you have it. The stock barrel is the part that is useful and the tube is just for "looks" as you say. Is there any point in doing this, no but hey whatever floats your boat.

thats good idea, i think ill use part of it, i like the idea of puttin a peice of pvc piping over the existing stock barrel, but i think ill also fit a peice of thin copper piping in the pvc so it is the size of the stock barel, so i can shoot from it, it IS mostly for looks, but i wana be able to shoot from it.
