I was just wondering if you thought it would be worth the money to add a scope or a sight to a 2001 cocker, and, if so, which one? Thanks, Jay

scopes and sights are not useful on any gun

Excuse me, but a sight is useful. If your first shot is always off, then you need some kind of reference. And they definatly improve your accuracy, even though they become somewhat useless over longer ranges, they are still a worthwhile investment.

A sight is worthless on a paintball gun. No gun is accurate nor precise enough for a sight to have any effect on it. You just waste time using it.

A scope on the other hand, is actually quite usefull in recball. It allows you to spot those annoying "snipers" with guille suits hidding in the brush. Its like binoculars, only one lens and it mounts on your gun, so you dont have to put your gun down to scout out people.

Its also helpful as a sight if you're shooting, say, a phantom.

I actually have one of my dad's old hunting scopes on my gun, well its not on right now because we were playing speedball, but when we play in the woods I slap it on for all the reasons stated above.

I do not use it for aiming, just for looking around.

sights really are useless on paintball guns because the ball drops and wind factors.

I started this thing a while ago, and since then, have figured out the "truth" behind sites. With a site, you won't get pinpoint accuracy, but it could give you a general idea as to where to aim, if you trust your gun.

i think a scope is more usfull in forest play, i don't play in the forest often, theres one fild like that, and it's to open for that usually. but if your a forest guy, and you ithink it will work go for it, pointless, in like superball speed ball, sup air ultimate air, etc, worthless, just a nother place to get hit. plus when u use the scope, you get sucked in and you don't pay atention. than pop, your hit from the side

sites are preference. They may be useless to people who say they are useless but others like myself can gain something by its use.
The site has to be targeted at the range you will most often shoot, anything closer or farthur you have to raise or lower the dot from where your aiming.
I like using sites most for snap shooting and times shooting where you dont have more than 2 seconds to aim so you dont know where your balls will land and be able to adjust. Since I like to use short barrels that are hard to aim with, it helps even more than those with 14 or even 12" barrels(I like to use 10", sometimes 5":))
If you have a good paint/barrel match and consistant paintballs, you can stack balls on top of each other easy

no they are worthless no matter what gun you put them on.

no they are worthless no matter what gun you put them on. Actually, thats wrong. Here's what you meant to say: "no they are worthless to me no matter what gun you put them on." A lot of people find them helpful. They don't use them for pinpoint accuracy. They use them to aim quickly and get a general area to shoot at.

if your going to buy a sight get a simple fiber optic sight that glows...simple but effective..i used to have one on my talon...lol...it worked for general direction in the case of snap shooting...a scope is also useful for spotting targets....neither will assist in accuracy over about 30 feet... estimated

I'm probably gonna get a reflective site.
