Well, I finally did it. I got a 2001 autococker this weekend. Although the gun is good from worr, Im ready to upgrade!!! I have all in mind what I want. I have upgreade the barrel already. If I get all these parts I want, I really have no clue how to put them on.
1.Is there a guide on how to do it somewhere?
2.Do you guys do your own upgrades?
3.Do you take it to an airsmith,,and will they add any parts I buy?
Heres what I would like to upgrade soon.
Handgrip
valve
pnueys
reg
Thats just a start,,,also,,the parts above,,which brand do you recommend...
thanks

well, in the order that you talked about upgrading heres my recomendations:
45 frame- Dye, or p&p custom
Valve- Shocktech rat II ,or aka tornado
Pneumatics- shocktech setup (4 ways, fpg reg and ram, excellent set up) or go for palmer pneu's
As a reg i highly recommend the wdp mini reg or air america black ice/vigilante, or even the new center flag reg
All of this will set you back approx.
75 for frame
60 for reg
40 for 4 way
35 for ram
60 to 100 for inline reg
35 to 70 for valve
your lookin at a round about figure of $370 or more
**stay away from ans and kapp pneus

Try and get an old style frame. I think you should go low pressure and get an adjustable reg before you change all your pneumatics. They are the same as the sto just not as pretty. Alot of people new to cockers upgrade their pneumatics first but it wont give you much better perormance. Like I said they have the sto stuff and i wouldnt change any of it unless I wanted it to look pretty. The reg I would change or I would get the twister kist to make it easier to adjust. My choice of ram is the sto and my choice of 3way is the shocktech which has little more to offer than the stos which are my 2nd fav(if you dont have a trigger stop it will probably give you more than trouble than good)
I am a big fan of akas low pressure stuff-bolt, valve, bodies, trigger plates, pretty much everything they make. stock cockers these days are great and they are making the space between custom and stock very thin(not talking about how pretty they are of course). Especially with the vert feed cockers. Good luck and happy upgrading.
PS-If you want some good deals on new stuff email me and I can tell you what I got.
1. If you need a guide you can get a schematic and video from WORR or a lot of retailers carry the cocker video too. It's basically Bud showing you how to tear the gun down to nothing.
2. Yep, sure do, but be prepared to learn some expensive lessons.
3. I had to do that once, only our of frustration. It turned out the part was defective, and I would not have been able to tell with the tools I had......Luckly the place that I buy my guns from gives a lifetime free labor warranty.
Hand grip...IF you stick with the stock frame it's a ***** to find DYE stickies for it. I got an AGD when I had the stock. Get the Dye Stainless Grip Frame, and then DYE sticky grips.
Valve - I like the Bob Long Low pressure valve...get the valve tool too.....
pnueys - Don't learn the lesson the hard way. I bought ANS stuff.......Now I have to spend the money to get the good stuff anyway.....Just buy a Palmer front block.
reg - Either a Stabalizer or a ANS Gen X!
Good Luck!!!
