I am just getting back in to paintball again and i don't know what gun i should get. I am thinking m98 custom, spyder compact2000, spyder xtra, or pmi pirhana sts g2. I will be spending around $300 on it so the cheaper the gun i get the more upgrades. Which do you think?

Model 98's are definately your best choice. A Hyperstar bolt and a Dye Aluminum barrel will create a deadly combination. The Model 98 really lags in the stock barrel department. So the barrel should be the first thing you get.

go with the sts, both me and my brother own pirahna's(my brother owns the sts) and they work like a charm, have lots of upgrades, and are great for rec ball(plus the sts comes with a ventri bolt!). The only problem is the threads for accepting co2 are very few so expect to use two o rings for your bottle(no big deal). Is it true that pirahnas can use spyder barrels?

M98C with bigshot or J&J ceramic gets you in (and playing hard!) for about $180. This last Sunday every Spyder sat out at least one game. 2 Automags out period. M-98s played all day. Great out of the box!

bah - that has nothing to do with the gun... even if that did happen... newayz go with ur personal preference of looks and feel. They all have about the same potential. M98 are good durable guns... but i don't have a personal pref. for them. I say you should get the new xtra or a tl +

my mag has never even coughed, and i do think that they are more reliable than tippmans, certainly better on gas
