:pissed:

Has this happened to any other Tippy owners? No matter what I do to tighten 'em in, I keep on losing my valve lock screws (the two small ones on the non-lettered side)!!!! I played on Sunday during tourney practice and used my 98 Custom a couple of games. I took a hard hit to the side with the 98 CUSTOM written on it, and it must have loosened my screws, 'cause now they are BOTH gone. Before when I got hit in my 'gun only one came out. But anyways, I sent to Tippmann for two replacements, and those are the ones that were on the 'gun on Sunday. So now I'll have to call again and probably pay for them, or buy some from my local store!:pissed: Oh yeah, another little tidbit: my VALVE CASING IS CRACKED! I don't know when it happened, how it happened, or where it happened, but I do know that if I don't get a new valve and a whole lotta screws very quickly from Tippmann, they are gonna have one ANGRY customer on their phone 24/7! PM me if this has happened to you. Im thinking about just using some loctite on the threads or something, as a last resort.

Never had that problem before. Are you sure your threads aren't stripped or something? Check that.

And I've found that Tippy Customer Service is second to none.

Maybe the threads are stripped on the inside of the valve. I heard that can be a problem.

Do you know if maybe there is a different valve that will fit the 98 Custom? I realize that it comes with the ideal valve for cold weather (which it is right now in NC), but if I'm gonna get a replacement valve, I figure I might as well get a new, better valve, if it's available.

Specter: I live in Raleigh, I play at Triangle Paintball, Gotcha, and Action Tagg.

TippmannsSuck: I'm gonna just take a wild guess...you use a Spyder, don't you? Yeah, I've noticed there are a lot more Tippmann haters from your side than their are Spyder Haters from ours. Is it just because, maybe, your gun breaks down a lot? Or is it simply because every fifth ball chops? Now, I'm not trying in the least to start a Tippy v. Spyder flame war, but you are asking for something when you say crap like that. Nearly every day I come on this and other forums to help and be helped by some of the nicest people I have ever met...but it's people like you who are making it less and less enjoyable every day to come on these forums. Next time (if there is a next time in this forum for your arse), think about the qualities of this 'gun before you speak about whatever cons that you are talking about. :pissed: CAN I GET AN AMEN TO THAT BROTHAS?! LOL...... :D

never had that problem ever. Perhaps, like crime dog said, the threads are stripped, if its on the screws you could go to a hardware store and get new ones, if its the bolt threads then , hmm, locktite, ya, i didnt contribute any new ideas, my bad...

There is an aftermarjet valve available. I think countypaintball has them.
