Would it be possible to buy a low-end electronic marker, say a 32 Degrees Icon-E, take the electronic parts out and fit them into a Tippmann 98 Custom? Has this been tried before? I was just thinking about this since E-bolts are hard to come by these days.

Don't tell me to just go buy an ION, it won't be worth it. I would really like to have the durability of Tippmann.

EDIT: I was looking around to see if anyone had tried this before and I found this (http://tippmannowners.com/showthread.php?t=1600) . IMO it would be easier just to buy like a Spyder grip frame and mount it onto the 98 rather than try to fit everything into the stock one.

just buy custom pro receiver halves and buy that egrip.for increased rof get a WAS and rufus dawg centerfeed.

would 98C internals fit into a custom pro? internal pics of a custom pro would be appreciated.

EDIT: What would I need to get in addition to the new reciever halfs and the e-grip? Or is everything exactly the same in the custom and custom pro?

ypu just put your old parts into the custom pro halves and put the egrip on.

The Custom Pro and 98C are virtually identical internally except for the sear. Even the pins are still in the exact same places, that goes for E-grip too.

Yes, there have been a few 98C's modified with sear trippers taken from Spyders and Spyder Clones. It is possible, although I'm not exactly clear on how it's done. Probably anyone who is fairly handy and has access to a Dremel and a drill press is in a good position to give it a try.

So that means all I have to get are the Custom Pro reciever halves a sear and spring, and the E-Bolt? Are the external parts interchangeable too? The feedneck, trigger guard, and asa? Does anybody know a website where I can order all these parts from?
