paint/barrel match theory?!?!

alrite.....today....i did a test with my m98 STOCK barrel. okay.......i shot some RPS big ball, RPS marbs(da most awesome paintballs i've ever seen in my life) and Direct Hit. first, i did the barrel paint rolling test. i tried to roll big ball(medium bore) through my barrel. it got stuck. i had to push it really hard to get it out. hmmmm too big. i got a marb, put it in my barrel. even tho its small bore, it got stuck about halfway through. i looked through my barrel...nad the marbs werent a perfect circle...with gaps around it. i had to somewhat push it...but came out fairly easily....but blowing didnt work. then i got a direct hit paintball. i put it in my barrel, and it just rolled right through. wow....very small bore! i looked at these balls....big ball....ugly color....ugly fill....u can see seams. marbz....u can barely see the seams. direct hit....u can see the seam....and its not a straight line either. it curves and stuff. interesting. i go out side, gas up my gun, and shoot some of each.i rested my gun on a tree to stabilize it. i shot 3 big ball at a foot thick tree about.......30 feet away. 2 hit, 1 flew. the ones dat hit were..about........5 inches apart. i shot some marbz...3 hit, about.....3 inches aparts from each other, in a triangle formation. i loved that nice green fill.....anyways. direct hits....shot 3. ALL LANDED RIGHT ON TOP OF EACH OTHER! and i loved the fill. i was sooo amazed.....even with this stock tippmann barrel which is super ***, and by the barrel rolling test...too big, it performed best out of da big ball, marb, and direct hit. i thought if a ball just rolls out.....da balls too small?!? i thought marbs were small bore.....but they got stuck. big ball.....too tight and didnt perform too well. marbs.....perfomed well enough...surprised me with my stock barrel. da direct hit just stunned me. 40$ a case, small bore, looked like uneven seams, not very famous....just broke right on top of each other. so....wassup up with this paint/barrel match theory? also........this was also a review. but i can tell you now.....im going to start using direct hits. i also tried them with my friends bigshot on his spyder......just as accurate! man...........

Man, really interesting results there Soulja ... Traditional Wisdom would say the Direct Hit (which rolled out of the barrel) would fly all over the place and be less accurate than the marbs (same should have been true for the balls that had to be shoved out of the barrel.) To be sure, try your test again, to make sure that those three direct hit paintballs weren't "flukes." sometimes the size of a ball can vary within a case.

well....those 3 were just my first ones. i shot more marbs, big ball, and my friend shot more direct hits. he got same results. for both of us....direct hits were more accurate than the bigball or marbz...........weird.....

I prefer the blow gun test. Put a ball in the barrel, if it rolls out its too small, if it doesnt go in the barrel at all its too big. If you can put it a lil ways down the barrel and shoot it out like a blow gun then you have a decent match.
