You can customize your own gun to your liking, you can sell it if you want something new, and you save on rental costs.

have him come with you one day, and when you get a rental, say
"GREAT BEARD OF ODIN!!! i could buy a marker 10 times better than this on my own!! for reals!!!"

then your dad will say

"Dang, since you put it that way, go ahead!!

show him how much money you would save on rental fees by getting a gun of your own. be creative and give him a chart or something

Very good point, over time, you will have saved more money buying your own rather than having to spend money on a rental every time you play. That and the performance factor, and you can play outlaw if you have your own gun.

I sure hope you made good use of all the time you saved not typing out "Yourself", "with", "and", "see", and "What".

This is one of the more extreme examples of "chat room kiddie shorthand" I have seen, and is a prime example of why few people take these paintball forums seriously.

Now you know why I am convinced most speedball kiddies have ADHD......

While you have "Pimpn in da hood!" as your location.

You have an Angel, I see. Yet you do not play speedball?

Bah Angels...:dodgy:
No offense Rob.
Go out with your friend and then buy one. And then keep it at the friend's house and tell your parents it's his. Then use it everytime you want to go to the field.

Unless your friend had a better gun, i'd bet they'd take it and use it!

also if you think about it, in the long run it costs more because you have to pay to rent the gun and evetually you could have rented enough to buy a really nice gun, so you'd be wasting a lot of money.

remind him that the more money you spend on paintball, the less money you have for drugs and hookers.

First of all let me ask this...

Are you serious about paintball?

Many people want to buy a marker instead of renting after they play for the first few times, but then after a month or so the marker ends up on a shelf gathering dust. For some its just a fad.

Owning a marker ultimately will save you money, think about if you pay 15$ for a rental package and you play twenty times thats 300$. Thats three hundred dollars that you could have bought a marker with and not had to rent...as time goes on you save money.

Not only does owning a marker allow for a better marker then a rental [which I will remind all of you of my post not to long ago explaining why rentals are the way they are] but also it allows you to get parts and upgrades you want.

Also owning a marker usually encourages you to play more and consider paintball as a serious past time. It is a good hobby and a great way to improve social skills [well for some people its not] and make new friends. When you play you get outside, get exercise, have fun, learn things, and make friends. Its a safe healthy past-time that keeps kids out of trouble.

The easiest way to convince that i've found is to invite him out to play for a day with you. Have him rent as well, and point out different markers and tell him about them. Show him you enjoy this sport and you have fun, this usually is enough for parents to help their child get into a positive past-time thats both fun, healthy, and safe.....and who knows if he plays perhaps he will get into the sport as well.

One very easy way is to tell him yourself, and not relay on an online forum to do so. We cannot express real emotion or show how excited about the sport you are. Tell him yourself and express yourself about how you feel about the sport.

thanks allot for all of your comments you guys. allot of you guys said that i should go out and play with him using rentals but my dad messed up his back three years ago, and he is on disability:( but i will be should to tell him about how much i can save. rental packages aground my area are $50, so when i play six times with rentals i waste 300, and the rental packages come with five hundred paintballs, iam should going to waste more than that, and is is $14 for 500 rnd. anyways thanks for everyone help:)

if you're also going to play outlaw, then it's a good idea to have your own!
That's why i got my first gun, to play at my friends house and we still do a lot (too cheap to pay field fees)
