View Full Version : Reg or X-chamber?

After shooting my newly acquired GT2000 in a bit of cold weather. I noticed some ice shooting out after a string of fast shots. I can get the NPS Thermal Cell X-chamber for $15, should I go ahead and buy a PMI Regulator instead? Will the reg keep ice out as well as an X-chamber?
Thanks for replies.

A regulator will not keep out ice at all. However, Palmer Stabilizers and AKALMP Sidewinders will prove to accept CO2 very well. Other regulators like the Vigilante... Well, just know that you'll have a crap load of problems if you use CO2 with it. :) If you plan to upgrade a lot, I would recommend getting a Palmer Stabilizer or an AKALMP Sidewinder reg. If you're not planning on upgrading, just pick up a gas through forgrip or an expansion chamber.

i suggest this:
get a anti siphon tube on ur tnak (10$ max)
get a pmi pure energy reg
this will equal almost no liquid co2 in ur gun, and a nice regulated flow of air.....which equals good consistancy and better accuracy.

I gots to agree with PBsouljah Get the anit-siphon and a reg. That way if you ever upgrade to N2 or compressed air you won't have wasted money on an X chamber. The anti-siphon does the same thing as an X chamber and is cheaper.

With the Pure Energy reg, you're still running the risk of screwin' it up with CO2. The anti-siphon's good, but it ain't gonna GUARENTEE no liquid getting into the regulator. I say go with the Palmer Stabilizer or the AKALMP Sidewinder reg, both run CO2 and N2 equally well. If you're using HPA, get the Vigilante, Macdev Gladiator, or Messiah reg.

I found an X-chamber at nationalpb that looked like a good deal and ordered it. It is the same one featured on the gt-2000 website (currently down). Its called the Thermal Cell X-chamber. It doesnt require a vertical adapter, has a removeable filter built in, and only cost $15. The guy at national said that the closeout price was around $8 cheaper than their price. Figured I couldn't go wrong, even if it just makes a good foregrip.
Check it out.

Yes, it's worth getting. I know you ain't askin' me, but oh wells. :D Because it's made of a softer material, it'll seal better and you don't have to worry about nicks or anything on it.
