My a5 currently has the RT, GTA 2x trig, shocktech superfly bolt, shocktech drop forward, and a 14" JJ ceramic and also the flatline.

I'm limited on funds atm so my question is, how necessary is a regulator for the a5? I will be using CO2 since buying an HPA is out of the question (way too expensive right now). If i play i will get unlimited refills.. but I will be going speedballing indoors for the first time in a few weeks.

A5 Users: Do you experience shootdown often? Is it noticable? I want to hear from people shooting their A5s w/o a reg.

I have a 6 degree expansion chamber also.. as well as a remote. I know that the regulator (Palmers stab) is a superior one and that it does its job perfectly.. but how necessary is it really?

If it is in fact crucial.. I will not hesitate to buy one.. but keep in mind, I also have the remote/x-chamber. Let me know!

In your situation, it's probably not the best idea to get a regulator yet. Shootdown usually isn't a major problem on a non-regulated A-5. Just don't shoot for like 5 seconds at full speed. Your remote/x-chamber setup is sufficient enough for Co2.

The added consistency of the regulator is a big improvement, but I'd say to save for HPA first. Then you can worry about adding a regulator.

If you're going to stay with Co2, think about getting an Anti-Siphon. It really does work. But, siince you have a remote, it cancels out, but if you plan on not using the remote during speedball it would help.

Dont regulate with an RT. It will lower pressure and reduce your RT's effectiveness.
