I've got a Custom Pro and used it for the first time today. The manual has a page (11 i think) that describes receiver dissasembly and was wondering if I need to do that after each use to clean it.

Tippmanns have to hell and back reliability with or without cleaning. Clean it if you want to make sure that your gun is in its best shape at all times. I do quite a bit because i cant watch tv, parents.... any way if you dont, and it wont hurt anything. It still wont hurt anything even you dont clean it for a year unless your going to Iraq, and lastly if you dissassemble it MAKE SURE YOU READ THE MANUAL!!! congratulations with your new gun.

Ok lets put it this way. I bought my Tippmann 98 C on ebay for $70 with a 14" Whisper barrel and a Double Trigger, I know, great deal. :D In my question to the guy I asked him how long he had it and he said 2 years. I then asked him If he ever oiled it, he said no. Ive had this gun for 2 years. Ive never oiled it until 2 weeks ago when I found some empire oil at my field. :D I oiled it and It shot so fast that I had to turn the velocity all the way down just to make it accurate. It was also very quiet.

Conclusion: You never ever have to. Just it wll make it work better.

In other words, you probably won't NEED to clean for a while, but it won't hurt to lube and clean it every so often.

basically. i clean the outside of my gun after every game, and the insides probly once a month(usually play at least 3 games a month) but i oil it b4 and after each game with a few drops of oil in the ASA and dry fireing it a few dozen times.

I've owned my 98 for over 5 years now. I used to break it down and clean and oil it after every day of play. While it doesn't hurt anything to clean it that much, it isn't needed. All you need to do to keep your marker running properly is put 2 drops of oil in the ASA before you play for the day, Clean off the spray and dirt from the outside at the end of the day, and break the marker down for a complete cleaning every 4-5 cases of paint.

it all depends on what happens to you gun while you play. i play woodsball and i get sprayed and leaves inside the back bolt. thats why i take mine apart after everytime i use it. like they said before, you dont have to clean i every time. but make sure it is properly oiled (ASA, back bolt and spring) so you gun will not rust. i would HIGHLY suggest you learn to take apart your gun well and get to know how it works. that way its not an adventure just to clean you gun.
