yeah, but read your warranty.
if you do so much as put a new trigger on it you void your warranty. SP charges you to fix stupid minor things too.
and the stock parts really arnt the best, people just buy it coz its from smart parts.

It will not void your warranty, I talked to SP about that.
And yes SP does have a horrible warranty plan, but I bet 95% of people with markers don't even send out their cards. They either fix problems themselves, ask on forums what is wrong, or just take it to a proshop.
And how are the stock parts not the best? They aren't as good as say a dm5's internals, but they are pretty darn good.

the barrel they give you, the reg is OK i hear, the trigger with the deathly strong magnets, to get a nice barrel and trigger your looking at spending another $90-150 at least...im not a big fan of duckbills either

The barrel is a progressive.
The stock reg, once broken in, gives me +/-5 psi, which isn't too bad.
Magnets can be taken out, or just adjusted.
trigger=20 bucks
reg=50 bucks
Can get one cheaper online.
:rolleyes:

I have owned both Ion and Omen.
Both are very nice guns.
If you are newer to paintball, I would reccomend getting the Omen.
If you are more experienced with how things work, I would reccomend the Ion.

the normal stock barrels they give you arnt progressives....thier just a crappy thing SP put on them to reduce the price. i DID hear that a batch came stock with progressive barrels tho :eyes: i wonder why SP would do that? lol their stock barrel machine broke or something? haha crazy

The Ion is an undebatably better marker than the omen.. despite it's hideous looks without spending $110 on a new shell, and despite that it's sp.. it IS a better marker..
Myself, I'm planning on a b2k4 next, as it's a bit of a change from the norm now, and imo they look better, shoot close enough to the same..

From about 2 months ago, they started to ship ions with progressives.
And the older stock barrels were not crap, they just looked like it.
I would get the promaster. Its coming down about 40$ in price soon and its a nice sick marker.
