OK everybody. Go to http://GetPaintballOnTV.homestead.com/Home.html
Go down to the bottom and you will see "E-mail The prime minister of canada" put your name in the first box and e-mail address in the second box. then click the button. a pre-written message will be sent to canadas prime minister. Maybe you don't feel like doing this because it doesn't affect you. But it affects the sport of paintball. so take a minute and do this.

I e-mailed my mp, we can't let this happen people. If only one person from each county tells their mp, then they'll all know the mistake made and will vote no. But, still, don't let somebody else tell your mp, everyone call or e-mail their mp please!!!

these are the ones who make the gun laws

pm@pm.gc.ca
Office of the prime minister (his name is Jean Chretien, since I'm sure some of you dont know).

I've made a few phone calls, but as of yet havent written those emails, 'cause I'm looking for a way to word it strongly yet get my point across, 'cause I realise "DIE YOU MOTHERF*CKER. BAN PAINTBALL AND I WILL KILL YOU AND THEN TAKE A REAL GUN TO SCHOOL AND KILL EVERYONE THERE" isnt going to help anyone's 'cause. So like I said, be forceful, let em know how angry you are, but lets try and come across as being civil and inteligent people (and no, it's not you I'm worryin about Muck :P)

Well this is what happens when idiots get voted into power.
I sure as hell didn't vote for the Liberals.

But at least our PM is funny to listen to. Jean Chretien sounds english when he speaks french, and french when he speaks english.

Relax.... I did't e-mail that to The PM himself. Actually my message to my MP was very respectfull.

You must admit though, the whole gun control thing in Canada is out of control. The cost of the program has skyrocketed over 300 million. Hmm, yours and my money...

PEOPLE...... I wouldn't be so critical of our neighbor's to the north......this can easily happen here as well....our right to own fire arms are always being challanged with laws always trying to be passed.....any one of these laws can end up including paintball markers.....so I think we should help them anyway we can.....as well as watch what is happening in our own back yard....

Gorge Bush strongly believes in Military (father). I know he may seem a little illiterate (speachs), but he's a good man (i think so, do not start a B-B-Q thread over this republican-ized statement, Gorge Bush and all other realted words are under copyright as of 2001 J/K). I'm not saying that we can go out and blow peoples head off with marble (mouse ball, whatever) in our guns set at 400 fps because G.W.Bush loves his guns , thats a stupid thing to even mention (my bad). We shouldn't strecth our rights as the community of paintball, as one. we should help other people with their mental obsetions to act like paintball is a militant game . As we turn paintball around, back into a sport, it won't be seen as 'shooting someone' but tagging someone. Then technically, paintball is not a harmful sport to outside virgin ears. Maybe we can do something good for Canada and all have a barrage of E-mails sent their way. something must be done, or our sport may slowly degrade, one country at a time. That said, twitcho, that pisture wasn't that bad was it? J/k it was a little over the limit. No hard core animal porn as of 4-5-01! well there goes another good thing, j/k ;)

hmmmm really??? weird...... but this is wat i wrote them just now:

my name is John calloway, and sorry for this being an informal letter. I am writing this because of the concern for your new law's effect on the sport of paintball. as your law is stated, you are banning all paintball. paintball cannot be played if your gun's velocity isnt higher than 158 feet per second. also paintballing cannot be played without pointing a gun at anyone. because paintball involves guns and shooting people does not mean their intentions are to harm and injure others. this innocent and growing game does not deserve to be banned. also, permitting this law to be passed will mean hundreds of people are basically throwing away paintball equipment that can go up to several thousands of dollars in value. This is very unfair. please, reconsider this law, or reword it so it may not ban the sport of paintball. i live in the united states, and i am very concerned for this growing sport. many are also worried that they will lose a lot of money. passing this law as it is stated also means that many paintball fields will be shut down, causing many people to lose their jobs, and many fields with a familiy run history to be shut down. please, please, do not pass this law as it is. i completely understand why it is being brought up, and i totally agree that fire arms excluding paintball guns should be banned. but please, paintball should not be banned. thank you very much for your time. \

it sounds kinda stupid and YES i know i repeat myself..but right now im high on sprite.

this is what some guy sent back to me

DATE OF RESPONSE : 09/04/2001
RESPONSE TO ENQUIRY :
Thank you for your correspondence.
On March 14, 2001 the Minister of Justice introduced Bill C-15
(Criminal Law
Amendment Act, 2001) which includes proposed amendments to the Firearms
Act
and to Part III of the Criminal Code of Canada. One of the proposed
amendments deals with airguns.
An airgun or paintball marker will be exempt from licensing and
registration
if it meets ONE of the following criteria:
* A muzzle velocity of 152.4 m (500 feet) per second or less
* A muzzle energy of 5.7 Joules or less

The proposed amendment to the Firearms Act reads as follows:
Subparagraphs 84 (3) (d) (i) (ii) of the Act are replaced by the
following;
(3) For the purposes of sections 91 to 95, 99 to 101, 103 to 107 and
117.03
of the Act and the provisions of the Firearms Act, the following
weapons are
deemed NOT to be firearms:
...

(d) any other barrelled weapon, where it is proved that the weapon is
not
designed or adapted to discharge
(i) a shot, bullet or other projectile at a muzzle velocity
exceeding 152.4 m per second or at a muzzle energy exceeding
5.7
Joules, or
(ii) a shot, bullet or other projectile that is designed or adapted
to
attain a velocity exceeding 152.4 m per second or an energy exceeding
5.7
Joules.
Therefore, if airguns or paintball markers fire at less than 152.4 m
per
second OR below 5.7 Joules they are exempt from registration and owners
would not have to license themselves. Since most paintball markers do
not
reach a muzzle velocity of 152.4 m per second, the proposed amendment
would
in no way change their status.
I hope this is of assistance to you.
Yours truly,

Greg Muller

Canadian Firearms Centre
