if the sound is really a problem you should buy a barrel with more holes in it to let the gas out smoother. smart parts are very quiet.

Go to google and type in "po mans paintball" enter the site and click on plans he tells you three different ways to make silencers. It's better to use steel wool instead of brillo pads though.
