View Full Version : speed ball the movie, part one: dumb
so, as you may have guessed theis post is about speed ball the movie ( http://www.speedballthemovie.com/ ). now i watched the trailer, and, well wasnt impressed. the plot seems alright, classic mighty ducks thing, notghing special, but i mean hey ill give them that, the acting, flat out dungalicious, even for a low budget id think they would get some people a little better than that, but again i dont really care too much. finally, the part that turned me off the most, the action. now im pro getting paintball more spotlight, i think its great that theres a movie being made, i support it whole heartidly, but nobody wants to see the type of action being portrayed. it shows some descent running, some guys "gettin' thier slide on", descent shooting, but no volume of paint at all, no fast paced action, and the game ends with a long range slow shoot out. no one wants to see that, especially non paintball players, they wanna see the paint flyin, people shooting like crazy, big gutsy moves and bunkering. it also seems like it is being marketed to the pg crowd kiddie, which in my opinion is probably the wrong crowd, granted we have some of ballers of that age, and i salute those who are, but i think thatthe average parent who know nothing about paintball, and kids dont know of paintball, might not be willing to take their children to see the film. in conclusion, i understand that these are alot of judgements to be making on a mock trailer, but from what i have seen these are my conclusions. i hope that the movie is better.
any one agree, or care to cuss me out for being stupid? all comments are appreciated, thanx for reading through the whole big long whinning post.

After reading the website and watching that mock trailer... I hope this abomination never even gets made. Half the characters are drug addicts, the plot is cliche and the whole concept is absurd. I hope it never sees the light of day... it could be the worst thing to happen to this sport.

Even if they make the paintball scenes accurate, how many people will want to play a sport where drug addicts win the world cup after just a few months (if even) of practice? I mean, do drug addicts even have enough money to play once? Let alone pay the entry fee. Let alone, buy good markers. Even then, how could they get 5+ constant years of experience in a short time? it can't happen!

I agree, the acting is real crappy. That shoot out at the end it pretty cheesy too. Like P.A. said it has a mighty ducks kinda plot. Who wants to see movies like those? 6 year olds. Who plays our sport? 10 to 40 year olds! Maybe if they could have better camera angles like overhead or somthin you could see what was going on, not just people running for thier life.

O man that SUCKED MONKEY BALLS!!! That trailer was a waste of time; I would never spend money to watch it. The acting is horrible "with the right players, I think we can get to the world cup" my ***. This stinks.

I'd rather buy a talon, I'd get more fun out of it than watching the movie
