i understand that the flatline is rough inside and provides the backspin at the kink.... can too much squeeegeeing wear this smooth? or should i not really be worried about casual cleaning?
heh thanks

Some squeegees can cause your barrel to wear faster. I would recommend a cloth pull though as those are much gentler then the rubber or plastic squeegees. But even the rubber squeegee won't cause massive wear and tear IMO. But the effect will be noticeable sooner in an A5 then the 98 flatline because the A5 relies more on the rough surface.

Stickies are awesome.

Apparently after the barrel has been used for a long while or a hundred thousand rds or so, the barrel begins to wear smooth on the inside which lessens and finally negates the intended backspin effect. Tippmann will re-sandblast these barrels back to the original roughness inside for free as long as you pay shipping. Call them up an ask, or send them an e-mail and post the reply here for the benefit of all.
It should be noted that the A-5 Flatline relying more on the roughness of the barrel and less on the curve and length wears out more quickly than the Model 98 Version.

i think they have fixed their problem with the barrels smoothing out... so if your flatline is fairly new, you shouldnt have to worry about that.
