Ok, I want to buy a marker that looks and feels like the M4/M16. I have 1 questions that will decide which one to get... With the hop-up barrel, would it be easy to use a scope or laser sight? Would the back spin make the trajectory of the ball difficult to scope?

lasers are illegal at most if not all feilds... and scopes are pointless... paintball guns arent that acurate you will never get 2 balls exactly at the same spot... i mean sure they could be close but still there really isnt a point maybe a sight? anyway whatever you do if you are rollin' with this set up you will scare some newbs

Hop-up has the same effect as flatline except HOW is gets the results.

The flatline uses a curved barrel and used friction to cause backspin.

Hop-up uses grooves to cause a "presure difference" that causes backspin.

Now the difference is the flatline causes the ball to arch up in a curve.

The hop-up dosent cause the curve as the ball kinda "floats" because of the backspin. This does not cause the arch effect as the flatline.

There is also stright rifling which used 8 grooves instead of the 3 in hop-up. Straight Rifleing is rumored to be the best, but Ive never used any of them so I couldnt give you a opinion on which is best.

I can only give you the facts presented to me.

With the Hop UP you gain not only a little bit of distance you also gain accuracy. The hop up barrel is VERY accurate. I can sit balls on to of each other at 100 feet.

I agree lasers and scopes are not worth it .. If you want a sighting device get a RED DOT site. I used a Red dot and it is great. If you have good paint and have the marker set up correctly then you can achieve very consistant results with the WS66.

The ball dose NOT do the curve up thing like the Tippmann Flatline does... Im not going to lie.. you wont be able to get the distance as the Flatline... BUT your accuracy and consistancy will be MUCH better. the Hop up barrel will shoot dead straight. the red dot will work great.

the hop up gives the same effect as a flat line, if anything it makes it easier to sight in a scope
