Sidearms: are they really worth it?

I've seen ads for the PT extreme and other sidearms of that sort, and I'm lookin in to buying one. But before, I do I'd like to hear your input about them. Are they really worth the money and how effective are they?

I don't think my tippmann would fail me anytime, I just think it would be neat to have one. You would look really intimidating with a paint pistol strapped to your leg. I'm beggining to think I want a pistol because it would make me look cooler, I dunno. Just wanted to see if they are that effective.

Woulden't be bad at all if you ran outta air/paint and you're in a heavy situation. Get the leg holster, some 12 grams, and don't pay too much.

dude dont get one of those they are like 100$ that could go to your tippy. with that money you could by nitro or someother cool stuff and if you do tourneys i dont think they let you have side arms, correct me if im wrong

you still have to carry your main gun(tippy in your case)
you get 15-25 shots a 12 gram
you get 10 shots per "magazine"
almost zippo range
almost zippo accuracy
it wouldn't help you unless they were right next ta you

Im sure u could get at least 40 shots with a 12 gram... I agree with villhime that it would just be a "good thing to have."

lol, I wonder if that could be done? If you go to the custom guns picture thread there is what apears to be a gold PGP that is heavily modified. It has a 45 rnd hopper on the back and looks like its been modified to semi-auto, correct me if I'm wrong.
