What is the best type of lubricant for paintball markers. I was told never to use petroleum based oils. So, would mineral oil work???

Just buy paintball oil. It's cheap & you can find some in any paintball store.

However, certain companies recommend you use certain lubricants with their guns. Like Smart Parts recommends using Shocker Grease, which is Dow 33 corning lube. Worr (WGP) recommends using white lithium grease. The manual for every gun tells you what their respective company recommends.

It totally depends on which marker you use. Some allow paintball oils. Others require something viscous like Slick Honey. For others Dow 33 or 55 is the way to go.

Sowwie Trophy, Astroglide > KY.

My personal favorite, for 'Trixes at least, is Slick Honey. I get it straight from Buzzy:

I like to shoot up slick honey. My track marks are getting nasty though.
