No offense to JT, they make great products, but is the 3.0 really a tourney marker. I have a Rebel BTL with a few upgrades and I've taken down a guy with a 3.0 many times and his marker has messed up a lot of times compared to my once.
they have this ad in PB2X that says it can be a beginner marker or a tourney marker...Would you play with it in a tourney if you had no other choice?

if i had no choice, whats the point to the question? any gun can be used in a tournament, companies have been saying that about their guns ever since i can remeber (spyder "TL") but do people actually consider them real tournament grade markers? no. can they be used in a tourney? yes.

What I meant was that would you play in a tourney with it or would you buy something within the same price range.

whats the price range? im sure id buy something with in the price range . . . i was (and never will be most likely) a fan of JT markers just because they are owned by BE and i prefer a gun company with more experience behind them . . .

You can take a stock Spyder Compact to a tourny, it doesnt matter what kinda gun you have its the person thats using it, wow I sounds smart:D :D

If you use it in a tournament, it's a tournament marker... simple as that. There are no regs or rules as to what markers you can take into tournaments, unless its a stock or pump class obviously.
People seem to think that you need a $2000 marker to be a good player, but that's a load of BS. It doesn't matter what kind of marker you have. If you suck, you suck. If you're a good player, then you'll do fine. Just practice a lot, communicate with your teammates, learn to shoot accuately and you'll do fine. It makes little difference if you have a $2000 marker that shoots 15 balls/second... it only takes one ball to tag someone out. Yeah, some of those things are nice, but they won't make you a better player... only practice will do that.

well i think i am decent player, but last time i played my gun went down (something on the board fried, i got it fixed since then, but anyway) and i had to use a rental tippman. i get to a good bunker, am snap shooting and i cannot see where i am shooting (clouds of co2 were huge) and the gun shot terribly and jammed often . . . granted i still did ok and managed to get some eliminations, i would have been way more comfortable and done better with my bushy since it faster and more accurate and it doesnt block my view with clouds of co2. the gun will not make you a better player, but it will help a little bit, you cant deny it.
