and you get the clear or black ridged grips from www.countypaintball.com or www.paintballkingdom.com both excellent stores with great customer service.

I beg to differ. Whenever I talk to Jim, he says to set the LPR and HPR to their respective pressures, and from that point only use the inline reg for velocity adjustments.

No man, that won't work. If your HP reg is set to 300psi, and your inline is set to 500psi, if you change your inline reg to 800psi you'll barely see any change in velocity, since the HP reg still feeds roughly 300psi into your gun (actually slightly lower since the input is higher)

So are you saying Jim's wrong?

I'm saying you misinterpreted what he said, because Jim understands how the marker works, and that most certainly is not it. If Jim did indeed say that (which I doubt) then yes, I am saying he is 100% wrong. But like I said, I'm pretty sure you misinterpreted what he said

At first I thought it was a little weird too. So I e-mailed him back and queried explicity whether to use the HPR or the inline for velocity adjustments. Both the first and second times he said the inline. In fact, I quote: "Use the Inline for all your velocity adjustments."
Oh well. Does sound a little weird.

Dunno, maybe someone else answered his email, because like I said... The inline reg won't change the pressure going into your gun if you still have the HP. If the HP is set to 300psi, it's gonna continue putting that pressure out. Only way to change that pressure through the inline is to put it at less than the HP reg is at

I guess the real solution is just going LP!
Anyway though, your logic sounds good.

thanks guys for both opinons. hypersonicaz last comments brings me to my next questions. if going to lp, then all i have to do i take out the guts of the hp reg? i know it explains it in the FAQ but i just wanted to make sure. thanks.

That is correct

Don't forget to remove the pin valve assembly once you've gutted the HPR.
