View Full Version : CP roller bearing trigger and setscrew magnet...weird!

So I was doing some maintenance on my impulse, and I had my battery sitting next to my setscrew magnet for the CP roller bearing trigger. The next thing I know there is smoke coming from my battery due to the setscrew magnet being attracted to the battery and sticking to it. So, I quickly detach it from the battery and all is well...so I thought. Then I go to reinstall my trigger and setscrew magnet and now, instead of the setscrew magnet repelling the trigger, it is attracting the trigger! I think the interaction with the battery messed up the polarity of the setscrew magnet.

So, now I am in need of a new setscrew magnet...well at least a magnet that I can attach to the setscrew. For those that are not familiar, the magnet is about 1/8" in diameter with a chrome finish. CP does not sell the magnet response kit seperate for this trigger. Does anyone know where I could get a magnet like this? Are there any specifics about the magnet that I should know about?

Thanks!

From what I understand you can get tiny magnets such as that from Radio Shack...The Source...some electronics store. People have done magnet mods to their triggers with magnets from those places.

Very easy, just call CP. Their customer service is super good. I bought a CP Roller Trigger and it didn't come with any magnets. I called them up and they shipped them for free to me. And i got them within 4 days too.

What i got from them:

- CP Stickers
- 1 setscrew + 1 setscrew with magnet on it
- 1 screw
- 1 bumper
- 1 little magnet to glue to my CP trigger

:D :D :D

wow, while that is really weird and i have never heard of it happening before, i think it would be possible. but yeah just give cp a ring, they'll take care of you.

Hmm, I'm getting ideas... I could put an electromagnet or something in my glove set to repeatedly switch the polarity of the magnets at extremely short intervals, making my gun go full auto, but without violating the one-pull-one-shot rule.

Not the most straightforward way to add shots (not that I advocate that :dodgy: ) but its something to ponder.
