just got 1 for my dads 98c i was wondering if the rifleing in it makes a big diff. compared to your normal smooth bore barrel

The physics of a paintball make rifling stupid and pointless.

why is that... muskets shot round led shots and when they finaly started rifling the barrels it made an large diff.

The rifling really doesn't do anything, although I tested it once against a CP 1-piece, and long range shooting was better. That was with identical paint on the same gun. The bore size probably was the difference though. Maybe the only disadvantage to the Twister is that a swab squeegee is necessary.

You don't need a swab, the riffling isn't nearly that deep.
The physics of riffling don't play into the barrel for a few reasons. One because paintballs change bores from shot to shot and the fill is not totally filling up the inside of the ball each ball. Making the flight path abnormal after a while because of the uneven distribution of paint on the inside of the barrel.
Secondly because to get the rifling effect the ball has to be big enough to some-what grip the riffling pattern to put spin on it, and finding an exact bore size paint for the barrel is hard. Thats not even taking in weather conditions.

ok here is the thing you say that its not deep rifling WRONG it is pretty deep in the barrel also even though there is a little air bubble in each paint ball the spin of the ball would cause the paint inside the ball to evenly coat its self around the out side of the shell leaving the air buble in the exact center of the ball . also last time i checked the air flow thru the barrel is what caused it to spin not the ball actualy touching the barrel and weather conditions effect all barrels so its not any worst than your normal barrel
