I think Darkewolf may have posted this in another thread before but I can't remember, but I saw this advertisement on an online store and I thought I saw something familiar so I clicked on it. Here it is:
Rex Paintball (http://www.rexpaintball.com/)
They even created a few that didn't look EXACTLY like the originals.

If you click the "enlarge picture" on the R1 and R2 marker, it clearly shows the poor attempt to cover the original odyssey marker.

Yah, I'm a little confused...the Odyssey rep said they couldnt use the data cable thing becuase SP has a patent on it...yet these guys make an exact copy of Odyssey's guns and I haven't heard anything about Odyssey sueing/charging them with a violation of their patent. Now that I think about it, Planet Eclipse uses data cables too. Wierd.

Shankster could probobly be more enligthening. But my guess is that as with an number of guns, namely kingman, dragun, and a bunch of the clones, these were made by jyc (i think thats the name)...Anyway, i could well be wrong, i heard this some where at some point in the past.

Below is from their forums...
Mike posted 10/3/05 1:47 AM Why would people buy your guns when they are obviously direct copies of Dragun, Odyssey, and Diablo markers?
Rex Paintball (Moderator) posted 10/3/05 2:44 AM because this is the same manufacturer who produced and provided the products for them
edit:
crap, my sig looks funky cus of the new style
edit:
now it doesn't look so bad

Dont assume what you "think" you all know. Well there's ONE company that produces Odyssey and the GREAT DRAGUN, and it was a Taiwanese company that produces all the markers you see in Odyssey and so is Rex Paintball too, so its really not a poor attempt its just they got orders from the same Taiwanese company to get the same guns like Odyssey but not for Odyssey just for Rex Paintball

the type-R looks A LOT like the "reaper" diablo planed to release a while back. if i had to guess i'd say that these markers are something odyssesy's and diablo's parent company (NPS?) had planned to release for some time now. for whatever reason REX paintball has been chosen to be the outlet. my question is why. why not use a brand with a little more prestige and *ahem* a better website, like idunno, diablo? diablo still has a bunch of faceless markers on it's homepage like the reaper and pro-X. i was fully expecting the old odyssey markers to be relased as revamped diablo markers... but then we have this REX paintball nonsense?

Because you dont want to get sued from another "American" company.

I wonder why they gave the guns code names like M1, R1, R2, etc. It's just confusing. Names are easier to remember. With these guns its like memorizing morse code.
I'm really diggin this quick reply thing.

Ok, sorry guys, havent been in here in a bit...
It was mentioned earlier. Same manufactor. SP doesn't like suing overseas companys. Besides WDP ( Angel <3).
